We all have a favorite charity or organization that we support, Surfrider Foundation, cancer research, breastcancer awareness, Parkinson's research, global warming, the homeless, abused children or whatever. Or a message we try to spread all on our own, something we feel deeply about. Mine is animals, I'd like to see them treated better, I'd like them all to have a happy home, see green grass and for the young to be with their mother's till they're older. I'd like to see them treated with respect. I would like to see their suffering end. How about you?

I have a couple that I generally always donate to. They are cancer research (my Mum passed away from colon cancer a few years back), and any of the charities that aid the blind as my grandmother was blind for the majority of her adult life.

how very sweet that you honor your mother and grandmother in that way, that's very nice to see. They must have been very special people.

"Hartstichting" - Heart foundation, also other main medical issues I consider important. I must say I don't really care about nature and animals and all, the humans should be cared for first in my opinion.

My favorite cause is abused children organizations. Children are so precious and it burns me up to see a child abused. I get very angry and wish the police and foster people would do to the abuser what they have done to the child. The mental damage as well as the physical damage takes a long time if ever to repair. We are supposed to protect our children but in too many cases that doesn't happen. Children should not have to live like that.

Yeah they make you get a license to drive car, but anyone an just have children. Sometimes when I see what some people do to their kids, I think it may not be a bad idea to make them pass a test first. Not gonna happen I know that but some people could use it.

Greyhound Welfare. liioking after the dogs after they are discarded by the racing industry. they make absolutely wonderful pets.

if only more of them did. there's a lot of bad things happening to those dogs. sometimes they are found wandering with their ears cut off so they can't be traced back to the owners (racing greyhounds have numbers tattooed into their ears to identify them) there's a lot of really good centres that take the animals in and try and re-home them. better racing owners and trainers willtake the retired dogs straight to the rescues, but sometimes there just isn't the space for them. and not enough people know just what brilliant house pets they are. really lovely natured, docile, easy going dogs.

wow there a new one for me. People often don't think about what happens to these animals once they're "used up" It's nice to know they find good homes

I support animals and children. I couldn't agree with you more about animals. Somewhere between 4-5 billion animals are raised and slaughtered for food every year, just in the United States. The reason for this astonishingly high number is simple: there are consumers who eat very large amounts of animal flesh. "The time will come when people such as I will look upon the murder of (other) animals as they no look upon the murder of human beings." -- Leonardo Da Vinci

Put me on the cancer research list and a local shelter for abused children. Cancer is such a rabid beast, I wish we could pinpoint causes and cures. I have learned a great deal on this thread, thanks a lot for posting it!

For me it's nature and animals. I think both are the best things about Earth and it pains me to see so many people who don't care about either. I wish animals could be treated better and with more respect.

I love animals, too. If I think about it hard I would decide for the Red Cross. I am a blood donor and several times a year the Red Cross collects blood at a local school. I gladly go there when they call me. I mean we do not get paid for the blood, it is a donation.

my favourite causes are the children's abuses because they mustn't be touched, they are the most beautiful things of the world; the animals'abuses, I hate the people who to do it, the global warming and the womans'defence...
