I don't think that there is a really big difference between Professionals and Hobbyiest myself. I mean if you are talented in what you do it all depends in just the way you choose to involve it in your daily life. Some people might take what they are good at and try to apply it in the Professional world to earn a living. And on the flipside some might just choose to do it more as a hobby in their spare time.

Professionals get paid the big bucks for their work.
Hobbyiest have to pay the big bucks for their supplies.
That is my opinion. I have gone to the museum and seen stuff that my 5 year old could do, for example we went one time there was this huge peice that was protected by glass and velvet ropes. All it was, was a huge piece of yellow construction paper with torn pieced of construction paper glued onto it. The museum paid something like $85,000.00 for it. To me it just looked like a bigger version of something my son had done in pre-school. The artist is a professional and got paid HUGE.
If I did something like that I would pay HUGE to buy the papers supplies to make that same item and no one would pay me for it. So I would be a hobbyiest. I think that is the main difference. If you are paying you have a hobby, if someone else is paying you are a pro.
