Do you agree or disagree when I say the basic needs, emotions, feelings, aspirations etc. are the same for all human beings in the world irrespective of region, culture, religion, race or whatever differences they have? All are in search of happiness in life. Share your thoughts, please. Basically all are same in thoughts, deeds and needs.

Yes sreevasu. The basic needs are the same for all human beings. Basic needs such as food, shelter, a certain degree of comfort and so on. To a point, all of our desires are basically the same. When people start to see that all of us are basically the same, maybe they will begin to stop being so racially motivated in their thought process. Since we all feel, we all can be hurt, we all can experience joy, it might do others well to realize we are all the same. The sad part of todays society is, many people unconsciously believe, "if you don't think or believe like I do, and if you don't agree with me, you are wrong". I wish we didn't have those ideas in our society, but we do. I wish we didn't have such hatred for one another. I wonder where it comes from?

It is because of the lack of generosity. One should be generous to consider others as fellow beings and should try to understand others. A thought like 'If I were in that position' could do better but unfortunately it is not that easy to find one. What we can do is to be good to others and make friendship with like-minded people. Thanks Terilee, you enriched my discussion.

The lack of compassion might be another issue for some people. Intollerance, emotional instability, and maybe a little egotism could all be considered issues. But then again, maybe I'm being judgmental. Or am I just trying to perceive problems with others in an attempt to prevent myself from going in the same direcation. We react to so many variables in other people's perception of reality. We find that perception to be against what we believe in as good or bad and we make a discerned effort to not allow what we beleive to be a negative force or energy into our small circle of perception. Is that predetermined judgement or is it lack or understanding? Who knows? With so many different cultures and beliefs and so many different ideas of what is right and what is wrong, it a shame we all can't come together in one accord. Now that would be a novel idea. I think maybe that's what it means to connect with people of a like mind. Still, with so much adversity and so many different belief systems, we certainly have to stay on our toes and stay informed concerning world issues. A very good reason to expand one's mind and thought process, digesting as much information as we can to keep us from looking like complete idiots. How interesting.

I support this opinion. All of us need food, water, home, clothes, love, friends, family, support. We differentiate just by the specific ways we get all theese things.

Truly said magica......that we have same needs and we differ just by specific ways we get these things. I would like to add a point over here that we also differ in the extent to which we are happy with the fulfillment of these needs. Some people are happy if they get the basic needs of food, cloth and house. But others want many more things from life ranging from simple commodities to the complex and wealthier ones.

Of course, you are right Rakhii. Take food for instance. Everyone need food and they take it to their taste and practice. Likewise is happiness. If one is happy with a bicycle to travel some other think of a bike or a car and some other will walk and it depends on their social and financial environment. Thank you for the comment.

We are all the same in the fact that we have the the same desires. What differs is each individuals perception of happiness. For some happiness is a great relationship with their partner, wonderful children and a beautiful family to grow old with. For some it may be financial or business success. For others it may be a happy life full of friends. We all do share the lust for life, the deep desire for some sort of happiness, and the basic need for human interaction.
