Is there a particular singer or song that gets you weeping?

I'm sitting here in a bit of a booze haze and listening to some music and starting to get a little misty eyed. Now, it may simply be the booze but I don't think so. I'm listening to lisa Gerrard (formerly of Dead can Dance) and she always brings me close to tears. I went to see her in concert a couple of weeks ago (had to go alone) and sat there like an idiot for the whole show with a massive lump in my throat.....is there anyone that has that type of effect on you guys?

Yeah, even if I'm not drinking. When Barney belts out "I love you, you love me, we're a happy family...." I get teary eyed and cry. I cry and cry and beg and beg for someone to hit the television with a sledgehammer. D@mned purple lump of dinosaur.

A few of the songs from the Gladiator soundtrack (on which Lisa Gerrard sings) have the ability to make me a bit teary, but I can't really think of any others that do. She has a very moving voice, no matter what she's singing.

I can't listen to anything by Oasis. My ex ruined it for me. When Wunderwall came out he burned the song on to a CD (about 13 times) and handed it to me when he was on my bad side. Dummy mee fell for it and got back with him lol. Needless to say, we aren't together anymore so any time an Oasis song comes on, I roll my eyes, cringe slightly and change the station.

Sorry to turn this religious (I am not very really) but I can't sing 'Abide with me'. It always bring a lump to my throat. Probably because people sing it in times of peril and it makes me think of them more than God really.

I'll probably get laughed at, but I'll tell you anyway...Josh Groban. The first time I heard him, it was To Where You Are, and I was driving home from work. I had to pull over because the song made me cry. I think he makes me weep because he sings about that perfect, impossible love that is unattainable to me. If I want to have a good cry, all I have to do is play You're Still You.

Right off the top of my head two songs come to mind "Blue Christmas" by Elvis and " Nights in White Satin" by the Moody Blues. These songs always get the water works going. I'm not sure why, they just do. Funny how that is.

There are a lot of songs that seem to touch home with me and make me cry. Something in the words just hits a spot and I can't help but feel emotional.
