hello friends It was the time of my college days. Our college principle was much strict for timing. many a times I use to get late without any excuse then one friend of mine told me a formula to reach in time,He suggest me to keep my watch 10 min ahead of actual time. Slowly slowly it starts working and my problem of reaching late get solved. since then my watch is always 10 min ahead. Its a practical formula and I am fully confident that it realy works.Infact few days back i was reading one book on time management this concept was also discrived there. Have you ever done so? please share your views about the idea? what else you do not to be late?

I don't keep my watch ahead of time, since once I'm up and around I'm pretty good at keeping to schedule. Besides, if I knew my watch was 10 minutes fast I'd just think I had more time than I really did and probably end up late anyway. I also hate waiting around, so if I did this I'd be terribly bad tempered, I think. But one clock I always keep 20 minutes ahead of time is my alarm clock. And that's only because my partner likes it that way, as he says it's the best way to be up on time. I'm not the quickest riser, but I always manage to get up on time and when I first wake up I never seem to remember the alarm clock is fast. It's only when I get downstairs for breakfast and see the real time I realise I'm up early.

Well I believe it is very good idea for working peoples or students. As they are always in hurry and most of the time they get late in reaching their class or any meeting on time.Infact i use to do the same,As my accounts teacher was very strict, she wants us to be on time but poor me,I always got late,So i did this and It solved my problem.Actually,it is very good idea to keep watches ahead of time, specially for the peoples who are lazy is getting up when their alram rings,or takes so much time in getting ready for school or office, they can only get punctual by doing so.I like this idea a lot,as it had worked for me.

No need to do it. I am allways at time or earlier. I am fast person who prefers to get rid of his obligations as soon as it`s possible.

I tried that and it didn't work. Since I knew it was fast, and by how much, I'd freak out for a second and then say to myself "wait, I have time because my clock is fast". I have goosed the bedroom clock ahead a little bit because my husband often dallies in the morning. Since he didn't KNOW the clock was fast, he didn't know he had more time than he thought. When he looks at his watch and such after his shower, he doesn't really notice the few minutes difference. I don't set it more than 5 minutes ahead, though. As to try to get somewhere on time, I tend to lay my clothes and clothes for my sons out the night before. I don't have to worry about digging for an outfit while I'm half asleep. I also pack my son's lunch for school the night before and stack things together in the refridge so all I have to do is drop them in his little cooler bag and set him out to the bus. It really helps me out to do these things. I am NOT a morning person. :)

i used to do that at some point in my life. the great thing about it was the "shock value" of it - in other words, when you looked at your watch, and saw it was already 10 minutes past the time you thought it was, you'd think - "uh-oh! it's late!" but, after a moment of realization that usually happens only seconds after that, you'd think, "oh, it's okay, i still have time. i know my watch is 10 minutes fast anyway..."

Well my watch is always set 5 minutes fast. I am generally a very punctual person, but my Mother was aways chronically late, so when I was a child, all the clocks in the house were set between 5 and 10 minutes ahead, so that she could get me to school and then herself to work on time!! So it is a habit that I was bought up with, and has just kind of stuck in adult life. Sadly my partner is another chronically late person, and nothing helps him - he was just born that way!! LOL!

well i am extremely conscious on time management when i have to go to work. otherwise, i am not so bothered whether i get late or not. for example in a party, or get together, or for dinner i take time getting myself ready. but while going to institutes i try to avoid getting late. few times i have tried your theory. i keep my room clock at least 5 min ahead. and it really is effective.

It's really a good well to manage time.I also care about time so much,so watch is essential part at any moment. But I never operate this formula, because I always can be on time.I usually will prepare early and set out early.Maybe you also can keep your biological clock ahead.

i dont think its not necessary as it will always be there in you mind that its 10 min fast so you may be slow

I know of some people who do this. I've done it before as well. I feel that it doesn't really work for us since we already know that the clock or watch is actually ahead of time and we end up working according to the actual time. If the intention is to ensure that one is on time, it often doesn't work because we know the real time. I think it's much better to get up much earlier so that one has more time to get ready and ensure that one goes to one's destination on time.

it's really a good idea to keep your watch 10 minutes ahead, and you will not be late then. but it didn't work for me,i tried that way before,10 minutes ahead, and when it hit the time,i think,oh,i still got 10 minutes more, then it turned out that i am even later than before.lol,so i have to keep my watch to the exact time it is.

Its a very good idea. I also follow the same idea. By following the idea, i will always be ahead of time. And i am sure many people follow the same idea in order to be ahead of time.

I do not have the habit of changing the time on my watch earlier. But it is indeed a good idea of preventing oneself from being late. For me, I would estimate the time needed for the journey and add buffer time to it so that I will arrive on time or earlier.
