I am sorry that you got ripped off and scammed at Ebay. I really don't know much about that place other than I know they have very high fees when you buy or sell something. I like to use Amazon.com when I buy things. I have seen alot of people on the court shows who got scammed from people who sell things on Ebay. I bet they did get your money order also or the envelope would have been returned to you. You have to be so careful these days because people will scam you in a heartbeat.

High fees to buy stuff? I don't think so. I found a lot of bargains on ebay. To limit being cheated, I suggest that you look at the seller's feedbacks before you decide to buy anything. I always do that and I've never been scammed yet. The best bargain I got was a PDA phone that was some hundred dollars cheaper than the market price. It's brand new too. The guy sold it because it was an unwanted freebie that came with his pay monthly plan.

I am sorry that has happened to you. You can always post a complaint against the seller on ebay. When l buy things over the internet l purchase a prepaid credit card. Visa offers them. They are great for shopping on line. You can get them almost anywhere now. You can buy them for what ever amount you like and once the card is used up you throw it away.

I usually use credit cards for my Ebay purchases. I am sure you will find the money order receipt soon, and hopefully they did not get it as they indicated. I am saying give them the benefit of the doubt. I sold some stuff on Ebay last year and the customer did not receive item in 3 weeks, and instead of sending me a email she left negative feedback. I had a tracking record and she really had not receive the item. It was around the holidays. It was enroute when I check. I hope things work out for you.

were you able to get the feedback changed? did she say you were a scammer? i'm sure you left her a negative feedback too - lol, something like "this person accuses you instead of sending an email to find out what happenned to her purchased item."

well,i will wait until one month if there's no settlement i will leave negative feedback.thanks for sharing your experience!

Sorry to hear you had this problem. I have been onthe other side of this situation though, as a seller I had someone say they sent me a money order, despite my saying that I accepted PayPal only. Then the guy mailed me, every day, for a week saying he wanted his item immediately even though I hadn't received his payment. I never did receive his payment, finally I had to communicate through the eBay complaints procedure as they guy was a serious scammer. I would recommend you use PayPal for online purchases in future, it is the safest method I know. Good luck for the future hun

I hope you find that money order reciept. I had a similar experience with my first buy ever on ebay. They said that they never got my money order. I did finally receive the item and then iI wasn't happy with it. It took 6 weeks. Did you add a comment to this persons ebay account. I did with mine. Sometimes a negative comment added to their page will help them to get the item to you. good luck!

I would be careful when leaving negative feedback, cause it can ruin your good rating. I have learned the hard way, that when you leave someone a negative feedback that they will more then likely retaliate back with a negative feedback as well. My best advice is to not leave feedback at all and to save your rating!

Hi, Being a powerseller on ebay I can tell you that you are probably wrong. If the person is a professional seller on ebay they would never trade a making a quick dollar in exchange for losing a customer. In the end its about repeat business and not one time deals... not to mention the negative feedback...

21 May 07
I was wondering are you suggesting that the seller mentioned in the discussion could be a powerseller? I didn't get that from the discussion but your right I doubt a powerseller would do such a thing, they don't want a bad reputation for sure they need returning customers to pay the ebay fees for one.
• Indonesia
21 May 07
you both are true.the seller is not a powerseller,i only checked his rating,he has 100%rating..i thought with 100% rating means i can believe him.but i can't open the seller's account now,it is said that there's a 3rd party involve in it.now i become more confused.. thanks for your comments, next time i will surely choose powerseller.

I was selling tickets on ebay, the person waited until the day after the Jay-Z concert to say he never received them and guess what i lost the recorded delivery slip. I emailed him and he ignored it which proved his inocence the thing was this person had a brilliant rep on ebay but maybe because he is waiting about 2 months to report it as not received. I guess there is just alot of this on ebay and i do not trust paypal much more because ebay own them. I think from now on people will just have to be more careful when they are using ebay and paypal.

oh,what is another reason you don't like paypal beside that ebay owns it?because i just joined paypal this morning.my husband said it will be safer.thanks for your help

I have been an ebay member since 1999. I have both bought and sold, and with the exception of a couple of occasions of minor issues, was quite satisfied. UNTIL this February that is! I make and sell jewelry, and buy from suppliers around the world. I also have a teen daughter, and she tries to buy for us on occasion. Well, while I was on a business trip she did some buying for us. She did not read the fine print, (she did check the MISLEADING feedback) and the $30 worth of beads that would cost less than $4 to ship, cost $52 for shipping. In the fine print, it states $2/item shipping. I did contact them to explain the situation, but they refused to bend. I chalked it up to experience, and was going to let it go. UNTIL, the beads arrived. In their descriptions, they were described as at least a "B" grade bead. When they arrived they were most all JUNK!!! Definately not of the quality I could make salable jewelry from. I returned about 1/2 the order along with a letter explaining that I also expected the $2/item shipping refunded as well, since the items were not as described. They sent a first refund, WITHOUT the $2/item charge. They even included a dispute form, so that made it clear to me, they make a practice of cheating people. I filled out the dispute form, and returned it with the original refund check as they required. I have NEVER had another response from them, and NO refund, no bead replacement, NOTHING!! The company is called GILBERT AND FRECH, out of North Carolina. They have an ebay store, but are also an independant web company. They sell beads and finished jewlery, and their stuff is JUNK!! DO NOT DEAL WITH GIBERT AND FRECH

I do buy from ebay. I have never had a problem. I always check their rating. The other thing I look for is whether or not they accept paypal. For me, paypal is the only way to pay. I like amazon but they won't take paypal and it takes time for me to save money to purchase from them. Ebay is good you just have to be careful.

I am very sorry to hear that you got ripped off on eBay but at least it isn't as bad as what happened to me a few years ago. I was a very big Emeka Okafor fan and the only thing I was missing was an actual ball signed by him (besides a college jersey which no ones has) in order to have one of every item signed by him. Well instead because I guess even though I was the winning bidder it must have not been enough for the seller and instead he sent me a signed picture of Jason Kidd. Now understanding the problems with PayPal and everything (which I used to pay) I couldn't get my money back because what he did was send me a list of items he had and asked me to pick one, well the only "name" he had was Jason Kidd, everyone else were "no-names" so that's what I picked. Not too bad so far right.......... Well then when I got the picture it didn't even come with a Cert. other than the one the seller created himself, so I think it was a fake to top it all of. But good thing for me is I paid less than $5 with shipping. It took 3 weeks for that seller to even respond the first time and he never responded after shipping the item. He is officially the first and only seller I have ever posted a negative feedback for (after having an account for over 5 1/2 years now).

That stinks. How is their feedback? If it's good maybe it really did get lost. I must admit as a seller and buyer on ebay I only use paypal. I accepted money orders as payment in the past and they rarely ever came. I am sure it's possible they are scamming you but also possible that they didn't really get the money order. Sometimes the mail is funky. I ordered something from someone I know and trust on ebay and it was mailed priority (have delivery confirmation that was proof she mailed it the day she said she did) and it took 4 weeks to get to me from california. Of course she was so upset she was going to send a duplicate, but luckily it finally came before she had to do it. Sorry you are having a hard time, hopefully it shows up soon and they send it, or you find your copy and prove they are defrauding you!

their feedback is 100% but their rating is kinda low and now i can't open their ebay account coz it said there's a third party involve in it.so,bye bye to my money..hehe.but it's ok,at least i can learn something from it.my husband has made me a paypal account this morning,so from now i will send payment through it.thanks a lot for your concern!

Oh honey, I always keep my money order. I have had to call and stop payment on it before. I feel so bad for you. Hopefully you will find your money order. I know some people rip people off on e-bay but so far on there I have had good luck. One time the lady never got my money order so I stopped it and re-issued her another one and about 3 weeks went by and she finally received it. That was so weird. The envelope was all dirty, so who knows where it was. I am sorry this happened to you. I hope you things work out for you.

if you can find your receipt it won't prove you sent it, but it can prove whether they cashed it and when. there is always that risk when you send check, mo, or cash. most ebayers are honest people though. don't let this spoil your experience with them. paypal is great. not only for ebay and other online shopping, but you can get a debit card to use in your everyday purchases. they also pay a percentage back everytime you use it. it really is a great thing. good luck and happy shopping.

That is why it's best not to use money orders. You could get their information from ebay and call them directly. I think unfortunatly you're just out of luck for this one. If you do contact the person and they are rude, you can give them negitive feedback and report them to ebay as a bad seller. Also keep in mind sometimes the mail is extreamly slow. I got a payment about a month after the person sent it. The post mark was a month old so they did send it right away. I put a tracking number on their package and it got to them in about 3 days. So sometimes the mail does mess up.

Sorry to hear about your experience with eBay ... but as you haven't said what you purchased I can only help so far. Does your seller have 100% feedback or are their comments left on this happening before. Did you try to repay or have you just left the transaction and already given feedback etc and hope it will go away?? If you are 100% sure that you've sent the payment you are entitled to open a claim with eBay to try and get your money back. You can do this buy opening a "goods not received" form - your seller will then dispute it and it will be up to eBay to decide on what to do. By solving the process this way it should avoid either party getting a strike on their account by eBay and also avoid any nasties. Just make sure you are factual and truthful in any statements and don't let your emotions play a part in any email. If you receive something abusive then you can report it to eBay and they will deal with it as it's against their rules and regulations. You should always be extra careful buying off eBay anyway. You just need to keep a copy of postage receipts and things if you decide to send money via post. The best way to pay and try to get your money back in cases is either by Paypal or your credit card [you can cancel the transaction and have it pulled up to 90 days]

Sorry to hear you got burnt on ebay. My son also got burnt on ebay. He bought a camera paid 350.00 for it. Camera never showed up and the guy left ebay right after selling it to my son. People can do rotton things can't they! I have been burnt a couple of times on ebay but only with the discription of things and once through the mail. Can you believe the lady put glass dishes in a box with paper towel. Not many paper towel and then lots of room in the box. You guessed it! Everything was broken. She blamed the post office of course! Silly women! Sometimes no matter how careful you try to be on ebay there is that one sale that gets the better of you.

I've been selling on ebay for years and you have to be careful who you deal with on Ebay. Always check a member's rating to make sure they are reliable, honest and communicative. If you feel that the seller is being dishonest, you can always file a claim with Ebay against them and/or leave them poor feedback. As for the situation with the mail, there is always a possibility that a money order did get lost in the mail so always keep your money order receipts just in case so the post office can reimburse you, but as a seller, I've never not received a money order that a buyer has sent to me.

I'm sorry that happen to you.Alot of people have been scammed that way. It's a sad fact of life that alot people feel that the only way they can get thru life is to scam other people out of their's
