Have you worked in a project where group leader does not know a single thing about the running of project but still you have to work with him as a subordinate?

Yes, I have come across a few of such cases in various fields. I think, that is why oue basic research is not opening new chapters. Any achievment that was done in basic research was about sixty years back from now! Only the application(technology) side has improved a lot since it is directly related with the consumer market in the form of trade and commerce. But unless some new chapters will be opened in our basic research part, then our progress for the next fifty years will be further idled. I don't think that such irresponsible and ignorant project leader will make it possible. Only government money is improperly utilised / spoiled in the hands of such persons and no or hardly any real outcome! Anyway, if such a person is a boss, then the sub-ordinates have to say a donkey as a horse and suffer for the irresponsibilities. Thanks for such a thought provoking topic.

I have not experienced such situation and if such situation happens then it is really a matter of shame for the group leader because a group leader should know about the work and should be able to guide all in their work but if the group leader would not be able to know the subject matter then it would really be a great trouble for the group.

With outsourcing on the rise, there is always this possibility that the group leader does not know anything about running the project. I would not want to work with him as my boss if I also do not know what is happening, not only running the project. I would not mind working with this group leader provided he let me take care of everything and not interfere with whatever decisions the team makes. If he knows nothing and yet wants to interfere, I wish him all the best.

I also wish such kind of bosses stop interfering in tasks.
