I am recently married and I have known this man for 16 years. I have realized that I don't know him as well as I thought LOL! I am still finding new and intriguing things about him that just surprises me. So it prompted me to ask, how well do you know your spouse?

We grew up together, met at the age of 10 and 11. Went to school together, had the same group of friends, lived just 2 streets apart, spoke on the phone for hours every night when we were teens, lived together for 11 years been married for 10 and I STILL learn new things about him!! LOL I reckon people change everyday, so there is always something new to learn? I don’t, I can say I rather enjoy it this way, keeps things exciting.

I absolutely agree! If we didn't constantly change and learn new things about each other we would become stagnant and bored with each other very quickly. Thanks for commenting!

Ok, last line should read... I can say, I rather enjoy it this way, keeps things exciting. I have no clue where that "I don't" came from. Too much coffee this morning me thinks.

Mamasan I don't think you ever know a Person 100% no matter how long you have known them or lived with them The Man I married disappeared the minute the ring was on my Finger he was totally different Man and I knew him 2 years before we got Married His true self came alight as soon as it was to late it took me 21 years to put an end to it I had to or I would not be who I am

I am sorry to hear that! My ex husband was like that as well. I just didn't want to give up, kept thinking that the old person I knew would come back, he was just having a hard time, that is why he was just slacking, that is why he had no ambition, that is why we didn't have any money, he is just having a hard time, so after 10 years I finally got it through my thick head that it wasn't him having a hard time, he was just a needy child in a mans body. I put my daughter thru so much in that marriage. I am very happy now with the man I am with, he has just blossomed over the years into a blessing in my life.

Thanks so much! I used to think I didn't deserve it taht I was not good enough or who would want me? I have learned that everyone deserves love and happiness. We all make mistakes and are entitled to another chance at love!

I know my husband really, really well. We think alike even. Most of the time, I know what he's thinking before the words come out of his mouth. It's probaby the reason we get along so well! As the years have passed, of course there's been changes in his taste in food, or opinion of decor, or even some habits, so, there's always a new thing I learn with that. The latest thing I think was that he didn't like turkey lunch meat for his sandwiches. I always bought turkey lunch meat and he never said anything. All of a sudden, one day, he tells me it's his least favorite lunch meat! Then, after prodding him about why he never told me like, 10 years ago, he told me he just recently decided he didn't like it. Funny guy. I adore him.

That is too funny! Yes, our partners sure do surprise us don't they! My husband is much the same way. He will go a few weeks and like one thing and then I start buying it and then he changes his mind. Well, it sure keeps you on your toes. LOL

There is always something new to learn with someone, even though we have known each other for years. People change, their attitudes change, when you think you know someone you always find out something new! LOL

Congratulations mamasan34. I know my husband very well now than when were just newlyweds. During those days I was puzzled why he did what he has done to me. And now that I know his so much that even I can predict what his next move would be. It scares me sometimes.

Yes, it is very scary sometimes how you can tell what their next move is because you have known their habits for so long. Thanks for commenting!
