This week-end on the SciFi channel, I finally caught up with the show Heroes that first aired in 2006. I love the show, and was happy to "get into it" over the course of a couple days. Although they played all 21 episodes at once, I gave up and recorded most of them so that I could watch them as time allowed. I can't help but notice the similarities between this show and The 4400, which is slated to start again soon. Both are serials, both concern a group of people who through unknown circumstances gained special abilities. Each person's ability is unique, and slowly the characters of the story move toward each other and toward an uncertain climax that may or may not end the world. Both concern destinies, and have good and evil defined in many layers of grey. I found that Heroes has more dynamic characters and better acting than The 4400, although the difference is minimal.

Except that Heroes has a former Doctor Who & Mr. Sulu!
