Ive done it. It does work but it took more than once to get it light as I wanted it.I usually use sun-in spray on,but lemon juice would be cheaper.

ooh sun-in spray...I had a bad experience with sun-in. My blonde friend tried it and got a beautiful sunkissed look. But when I tried it, it turned my hair a brassy orange. I guess sun-in only works if you're naturally blonde. Lemon juice is good--and chemical free. It's also really good for skin. I like to wash my face with a little lemon juice to give it a fresh peaches and cream look. Lemon juice also has wonderful antibacterial properties if you ever get pimples.

Yes it does work. I would ask what color your hair is right now though. If it is dark, I would be careful because it could turn an orange color. But if it is lighter, you should be fine. I would not expect a lot of color the first time. Many times you have to apply and reapply. My daughter likes her hair lightened in the summer and I buy sun in and apply it like highlights. It is only about 4 bucks and works with a hair dryer. Good luck to you. :)

I've heard something like that about putting lemon juice on one's hair. However, I'm more sure that drinking lemon juice helps to prevent kidney stones and gall stones. Lemon juice is good for you. Apply internally, not externally!

Lemon juice is an acid, so yes, it will even help make your white laundry brighter. :) But do not expect a drastic change. If you want the subtle change, get the "Sun In" or "Touch of Sun" in the hair care isle. It will add highlights to your hair while you are out in the sun. But it will not do a drastic POW look. :) So, stop using it when you have gotten to the point that you are happy. :D
