What do you think of "envy"?

I hate envy,the world will be very beautiful if there is no envy exists on the earth,i believe.But it seems impossible.There are always some people be jealous of the people who are better than them in some fields.Envy is a devil,it makes enmity,unhappy,even bad behaviors. I hate envy,i hope envy disappear from the minute when i submit the post.

I definitely agree...the world would be a better place if people would not be envious of other people's possessions, achievements, etc. But as you said such is impossible because there will always be people who will envy others. Being envious per se is not bad, what is bad is when out of one's envy you destroy the other person by pulling him/her down, making life miserable for that person...If everyone would not resort to envying other people, what a better place would our world be.

Yes,from so many responses above i learned that everything is a sword of two sides,envy included.In some way,envy can also bring good outcome.It help us out learing from the one we envy. As you said,envy some one but not pulling him down or do something bad to him,then the world would be more beautiful. Thanks for your good response,thank you very much,my friend.

Yes,i definitely agree with you,my friend.What we need do is to work harder than the one we envy,not do something bad to him.Then we can improve our complex ability together.We can learn many good skill from him,that's the target.

the bad thing is that envy will still for ever because it is a part of humanity , been jealous from some one and wish him a bad thing is evil but you know what ?! not all envy are evil , if i envy some one because he made good things to other people that mean i will be jealous and try to make good things too to other people , if i envy some one that he is a good guy , that mean i need to be like him , so not all envy is evil .

I can't agree with you. Its the envy people who makes the world going, otherwise the so called beauty, healthy, wealthy didn't have any importance.

I think envy is a essentiality of human,expecially Chinese people.I found that hating the rich persons is more prevailing than any other contries.I think that is envy,some people envy another people who are rich than them,so they hate them.a word says that not eat grapes that are sour grapes.

That is very true, envious people can never have any peace of mind because in their minds there's always the presence of jealousy and even hatred if possible towards the people who gets involved unknowingly by this envious people mentioned.

Yes,what's worse, the people being envied may suffer some unexpected unhappy things caused by "the jealous people".For me,i show my sympathe to the victims much.They're really victims.But they are hurt even knowing nothing what happened.So i hope no envy exists in this beautiful world. The definition of envy per www.dictionary.com is: Envy a feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another’s advantages, success, possessions, Object of envious feelings. Envy denotes the longing to possess objects. I say that because some envy is good for the the world and people in general. When some people have envy they it helps give them a reason to strive to work harder. What is the definition of objects to everyone, it is their belongings, or is their loved ones? The bible says we should not be envious of others I guess you are right envy is wrong but some envy keeps people striving for a better life.
