Have you forgotten to pay your bills?

I did. It's the water bill. The one we only pay every three months. I forgot and they shut off the water. GRRRR. And our account is in the negative till Tuesday night. I'm so embarrassed! My daughter and her friend are here and there's no water! Now i have to very sheepishly ask my mom for some money so i can pay it! I can't believe I did it again. Granted last time i din't have to borrow money. But this business of paying every three months doesn't help. I need a bill every month to remember!

we all do it hun, it happens, you kidding me, for a couple of months, i actually forgot to pay ALL of my bills, i know right? how messed up! But just remember that it happens, and laugh about it later, this way it's easier and you get to relax a little, okay so there's no water for now, there's ways around that, you can get a bottle of water and use that, borrow water from a neighbor or friend maybe? there's ways around it hun, don't call yourself down, it happens to everyone.

My brother came to my rescue today! He paid our bill and i wrote him a check that he will take to the bank next tuesday. The water was turned on an hour after he called and paid it for us! Thank goodness for family!

Hi caila611, it happened with me also.I forgot to pay my credit card bills to my bank.So once i got a love letter from bank stating that they have closed my card and I have to pay 2 times more than the normal amount. So I have to pay close 450 USD to revive my card.Actually i always delayed the payment.I thought I would pay next day, then again neyt and in this way the amount was accumulating and now I have to pay the price for being lazy.Don't be lazy in case of bills thats what I learnt.:)

I have not forgotten to pay any of my bills. In the starting of month i use to make a list of payments along with the dates that i have to make on the particular month. Each day i see the list and make the payments accordingly. Any how we are going to pay the bill, then why we have to pay the bill late along with the fine and suffer the inconveniences.

Sometime shen we are cleaning the house we lose bills in the process and I find I didnt pay them when the next bill arrives. It is really frusturating and makes me feel very disorganized but we have never gotten anything shut off. They are usualy pretty good about warning people and giving them a chance to pay.

Yes, a couple of times. I usually forgot to pay our electric bill on time but was able to pay it a day or two after the due date. Haha! But now, I set alarms of the important things that I should do in my mobile phone so I will always be reminded. I suggest you provide yourself a mini-planner to put all your bill and dues there and also important dates that you must remember.

I am terrible about remembering when to pay bills. I often pay them late. Luckily for me my fiancee took over that process. She makes sure that the bills are paid on time if not early each month. She has a calendar book that she keeps everything in. Once a week, like on a Monday, she will sit down and writes all the bills out for that week.

i once forgot to pay the water bill but that was last year. and i ended up paying additional surcharge the following month. although it's not that much, it's still money. from then on, i never forgot to pay bills already... and i pay on or before due date to avoid surcharges.

Join the crowd! I have forgotten to pay my water bill at least 3 times in the last 5 years. Now if my hubby comes home and the water is off due to public works doing some work--he calls to see if I paid the bill. Can't blame him really. I get monthly bills but they have an odd due date that changes a day or two every month. I am used to knowing when each bill is due. I have been trying to pay it 2 weeks early now to avoid any problems. So, don't feel bad! I have you beat by at least one time :)

I forgot to pay my car installment and I received a call telling me that if I didn't pay up, they will send some peple to repossess the car. I made me panic and today, during lunch, I made the payment. I could not wait for another 7 months before i fully settled my car loan.

I hear ya!! Not only have I forgotten, we have taken 30 day hits on credit cards because I didn't hit the submit button on the website to submit my payment. I argued with my husband, "But I wrote it in my check ledger!" Luckily I was able to convince the credit companies to remove it from the credit report. I have also have our water shut off because I forgot to pay the bill... and have partaken in embarrassing statements like "but I know I paid you, have it it written right here" THey're response being, "No, ma'am that was what you paid LAST month!" I feel for ya!

I have way in the past. But most everything I do Bills and Banking now is Automated. I also have an online Calander set up that sends reminders to me in emails. My online Bank will also send me a reminder that a bill is scheduled to be paid. I love being automated. :) Have A Great Day Everyone!

I have not forgotten to pay my bills as of yet as I pay them as soon as I get them so I do not forget. That stinks that they shut your water off but these companies are very tight about their money. Hope that you can get the situation taken care of right away so you have water again. I like my water bill every three months and wish my other bills were every three months so I could have some months where I did not have to worry about making payments.

I did that with the water bill once. It was the same as you, I simply forgot. I had a bill keeper beside the phone and it go shoved further and further back. I was paying bills that weren't as due yet and it got completely buried. One evening I cam home from work and poof, no water. I checked the bill slot and sure enough I was overdue. I ended up having to pay the bill that night and a reconnect fee of 75 on the spot jus so we wouldn't have to go without it. It was so embarasing, especially because I did have the money for it and they assumed I didn't.

Haha, yeah. One time I forgot to pay for cable. I had the money already I just sort of forgot about it. We got disconnected and we never applied for a reconnection. Then I forgot to pay for the electricity. It was already a disconnection notice, and we were going to get disconnected on that day. I didn't get lazy this time because it would be pretty bad if we got our electricity cut off :D

Yes, I sure have. It happened once with the electric bill - things were tight but we were still balancing things fairly well. Every creditor got something every month - or so I thought. A guy came to the door from the electric company demanding payment or he'd shut it off right then. Luckily I had a check on hand and payday was the following day! At any rate, I think we've all been there so don't beat yourself up over it. I've set up many auto-pays or online banking payments since that happened and as a result, things have gone much more smoothly since then bill-wise (well, that and getting a night job, but still...). Good luck to you!
