My star rating is down to 7 :-(

Why do some people hate me???
Yesterday I had a red star and a 9.
Although some people don't agree with me
I think it's very rude to give -
to all my answers and discussions just to
make me look bad.
I'm not able to see who did this to me and
I might never know, and that really hurts me.
If you want to tell me something send me a message
and I would try to work it out, say it to me instead of
hurting me like this.
I think myLot should put up a system that sets some
limits on how many - one person can give to another.
Has this ever been done to you?
I'm so sad, I spend a lot of time giving people +
and I almost never give anyone a - maybe if that person really
deserves that ( maybe by spamming a lot or posting the same discussion 10 times)
Tell me your thoughts.

Sorry to hear that your star rating has been cut down. Anyway like you i have never given any negative on any discussions to anybody but i do rate positive rating to the good responses. My rating have never been dropped from 9 so, i never bothered to ask those questions or thought about it. But i think it might be because we have not participated or used mylot for few days or weeks, as once my friend told me that mylot star rating will drop if you does not participate in the discussions for few days. Anyway hope you recover up as soon as possible.

Well, I think I have been very active
lately and therefor I think it isn't because of that.
I mean it might be like that but it is not the reason
today.
And yea, seems like they have lower the rating on all accounts.

Actually I dont think people nate you, everyone has had a loss to their stars and rep so your not being singled out. Hopefully mylot will give an explanation to all this. I myself have had my star drop 2 levels.
I think whats happende is a niuumber of people have ben kicked off the site for some infraction or other, meaning that any ratings that they have givn have been made redunant and this having a knock on effect for the rest of us

I hope not, I'm kind of a person that want
everybody to be friends.
That might be it but I also think that myLot should tell us about it
or give everyone at least one higher rating.

My belief is that the star rating is complicated (like the payment system) but depends greatly on the ratio between the total number of posts you have made and those which other users have given a '+' or a Best Answer to.
If you make a lot of posts, that ratio will very likely go down temporarily because you will not have yet gained plusses on the new posts, so it is not something to be sad about.
I notice, by the way, that, since you posted this, your rating is back at 9.

Could be, but it just turned out to be some system error that they fixed.

i had a red 9 yesterday, it's yellow 8 toady, it is happening to almost everyone here on mylot, try not to worry about it, the general feeling is that perhaps it's a glitch, so if it is, maybe mylot admin will sort it out.

have all worked harder than our star rates show then.

Well first of all, let me say I don't think that your star rating is due to the fact that someone wants to hurt you. Secondly, it is just a rating here on mylot, you shouldn't let it get to you so much, I mean yes, I was suprised to see that my star rating went from a ten yesterday to an eight today. It seems to me that there are a lot of people today with lower star ratings. I think it seems like it is mylot doing it, not other users. Anyhow, good luck to you and try not to get worked up over your star rating, my lot ratings are nothing to be sad over. Have a great day. =)

Yea, I guess you're right, I have just worked so hard for this and
it's awful to see it go for nothing.
And yes I have been looking at some
discussions here on myLot and it seems they are behind it.
