Do you find the ads for things to take for Fibromyalgia annoying? Especially when they use the word "cure"? We all are very aware there is no cure for FM yet! If there were something we could all take we'd all share it with each other really fast! There's one particular ad here where they don't even spell fibromyalgia correctly, yet they want our money to buy the pills to feel better from it. Arrrgggghhhh!!!! Am I being overly sensitive or is it you, too, that gets annoyed with the ads everywhere?

I have been around this for awhile (almost 11 years). I know there is no cure. And I don't believe there ever will be because of the nature of the illness. How can they cure something that affects the central nervous system, the immune system and the muscular-skeletal system? A disease that affects every part of the body at some point or another. I will never fall for these expensive treatments. Yes, you may feel some relief but the illness is still there and any amount of stress can bring it back full force. Also, if you are on prescription medications, trying these alternative therapies are not recommended. And I'm not about to go off my scripts to try something that may do absolutely nothing for me. What I am doing now is working for me - at least, I am managing my illness, I know my limitations, I pace myself. I have also ACCEPTED this as my life and everything that goes along with it. And finding silver linings are imperative.

Really good! Another FM'er not fooled. Some are, unfortunately, but hopefully all will get wise to these snake oil sales pitches like you are.

You're preaching to the choir, sister !!! It drives me insane !! And the really interesting thing is on this website, because I added the word Fibromyalgia to "Health Concerns" now I'm seeing a huge number of Fibro "Remedies"..and no laughing now..there was actually one named "Grama's Fibromyalgia Cure" ...I wanna poke "Grama" in the eye !! lol..and one other thing I've noticed is Ebay auctions with people touting "Bags" that from appearances are supposed to "ease your pain from Fibromyalgia and Arthritis"...now..you and I both know that unless you've lived with FM, you have NO clue what the pain is like...you cannot liken it to childbirth, because childbirth ends at some point..Fibromyalgia doesn't !! OK so, I guess I've vented enough for the day...ahhhhhhhhhh thanks for the opportunity to rant about something that does drive me right up the wall!!!
