I was talking to my future daughter in law on the phone a couple days ago. she told me how happy she was that I was going to be her mother in law, then she proceeded to tell me about the first time coookng for her mom and my son. It brought back memories. I married my first husband when i was 17 and pregnant. that first year, I decided to cook Thanksgiving dinner. I ended the dinner with the giblets still in the turkey stomach and no stuffing. I was mordified. Yes, everyone lived and there was no fire, but this is a memory that sticks in my mind. and the only thing my ex ever backed me on. Does anyone else have any cooking catastrophies??

I have many but the one that immediately came to mind was also the first spaghetti dinner I cooked for my ex. We're both Italian so you might think it came out good. Wrong! I was also 18 and my mother had never taught me how to cook before I got married. He ended up throwing the whole pan of spaghetti against the kitchen wall and it stuck there like glue! lol....

LOL. My problem too, was age and temperment. I will never forget the sight of a melting bag of giblits in my turkey. Oh well, we live and learn, don't we?

Last time when I had cooking disaster my whole flat was stinking burn food. Of course I have this habit that if I'm on line I do many other things the same time. Not good idea when you try cooking the same time. So I burnt dinner ( rice with meat and vegetables). My pot was so burnt that I have to bin it. Since that time I promised my self no more cooking while I'm doing something on Internet.
