Site links, referrals and blogs oh my!

Very seldom do I click on links that members put in their discussions and one reason is because I've picked up viruses and trojans that way. Even our most unsuspecting friend can send us a virus unknowingly and it's not their fault it's just an internet fact of life. Especially if our virus programs aren't up to date. I also don't believe in referrals because I don't ask for them from anyone, including family and very close friends and don't appreciate being asked to be one. Not to mention clicking on someones referral link can give us pc problems. As far as blogs are concerned they are either so personal that they are boring and if I want to read about someone's life it would probably be someone I know or at least have some knowledge or interest in. If their not personal they are only about earning money online and getting referrals which takes me to the beginning of my discussion. I have written down and checked some of the site links members put in their discussions but only money making sites. They go into my bookmarks so I can look at them when I have the time. I have a file for mylot links only and it contains over 100 links. There's only so many hours in a day and I think it's a little crazy since all we have to do if we really are looking for these sites is search for these sites on our own. I've noticed that it's usually the newer members who do it and that's probably because they don't know what to start a discussion about. Please don't get on my case for this discussion. This is my personal feeling. I realize some people don't know where to start to find these sites and a lot of people need referrals.Do you think there are too many links given out? How many times have you put your link in a discussion? Do you get many referrals from them?

Same thing goes for me too, but I never wasted my time check what their link is all about -because for me, they are all but just a scam or as you have said, a virus. Some are just to earn referrals for their online money-making schemes, so I ignore them. The only link that I check out here are the guidelines, and mylot's own profile. The best thing to do is to report them, it is an obvious violation on mylot's guidelines.

You're right, ctry, and as a rule I avoid these links. I've visited some member's pages and they seem to be filled with nothing but links to one money-making site or another. I do think there are too many of them. But, I guess making money is the only reason some of the people are on here for. You can see that by the way they respond to the discussions.
