Hi, Chiyosan, I have received from various people regarding the meaning of LOL, among them one wrote the meaning for LOL as follows:
IT CAN MEAN 3 THINGS
1. LOL - LAUGH OUT LOUD
2. LOL - LOTS OF LOVE
3. LOL - LADY OF LEISURE
I was also not aware of the meaning earlier. Now I understood. I hope you will also understand the meaning. Thank you.

It is an expression of laughing. sometimes a person is writing something very serious which may make you angry or hurt you, but if after the sentence he has added an expression of lol.....then you should understand that person is just joking and that you should take the whole thing very lightly. Hope that helps you.

It means to laugh out loud and that the person writing it is finding something funny or is insinuating that what they have written is supposed to be a joke and not to be taken seriously.
