Would a remake tarnish the original?

In this day in age where remakes are abundant... Would you think that Life is Beautiful would be honored or tarnished by a remake? I personally feel that the message it holds is great, it resonates with the correct concept of always searching for the silver lining. Always searching for a way to perservear. A remake would be great in my perspective, as long as they stay loose with it. Sticking to the same concepts and ideas, but making the characters more relatable for our time.

I'm glad u brought this subject up, because the number of remakes of movies they've made are just off the charts now. And I'm not exactly sure how I feel about remakes yet because some of them really put a good name to the movie and others can start to make u feel bad about the original.

I've never liked this movie much, and can't see why other people do, but that's beside the point. Why would you want to remake it? It was only produced in the last ten years. It's hardly due to be remade yet. And why would you want to update it? That would make it lose its point, surely, since it's about what happened in wartime, and a specific wartime.

remake would not be bad if the cast and acting were as much as powerful as that of the original...for this you need an actor like roberto benigni
