The sweetest thing happened in Wal-mart today...

We were all in there trying to get some quick shopping done before my s/o had to go to work tonight. Wal-mart was crazy busy so we just wanted to get in, get what we needed and get out. Suddenly this elderly gentleman called over to us and when we stopped he came over and shook my s/o's hand. Then he said "You have a nice family, buy the little ones a treat, on me," and he slipped some money into my s/o's hand. I don't think s/o had ever witnessed such an act of kindness himself so we were doubly blessed today!
There are good people in the world and I was lucky enough to meet one today.

People are always to cut down people but I have found if you give them half a chance they will do right by you. That was very nice and thoughtful of him. He saw a nice family and showed you that he appreciated this site. You will find this in everyday life. Just be open to finding it.

I am glad to hear of your good luck today there are alot of good people in the world sometimes you just have to look a little harder on some then you do on others some are willing to just show it and others are abit leary of it being taken the wrong way so you was lucky to have one into one that likes to share in the open.I am so glad of your good forune today I hope you have many more.

I think that is true. So often people can be very mistrusting of others so it makes hard to show and receive good things. I'm really glad we were able to experience this act of good as a family.

You were lucky with such a wonderful act of kindness. Sometimes we have to be kind, he probably noticed you were all a wonderful group of people. I believe you were blessed by an angel. It sounds silly but I often times believe that when one does a kindness for another in such an unexpected way, that it is an angel.

It isn't silly at all! It's a really beautiful thought. I believe there are angels all around us, we just have to be willing to see them.

I am sure you knew you had a nice family, but isn't the reinforcement wonderful? I am glad that in all of this rushing around you had a good experience. Just reading what you wrote gives me a smile, and I was not even there. I wish more people would take the time to tell people what they are doing right. It sure would make like go a lot better.

Awe that is so sweet !! It really makes a persons day when someone takes the time to be kind to someone else even if it just means smiling at someone when they walk by . Too often we get caught up in our own lives to give any thought to someone else but everyone once in awhile something happens to make you realize that there are still good people in the world even though we hear so much about the bad everyday in the newspaper or on the radio or news .

Yes, my friend, I believe that you were double-blessed today.....sometimes a random act of kindness can change a person's whole life....
Thanks so much for reminding us of the good that is out there....too often we hear only the negative things in life and it causes biases.....

This is so wonderful. You are so lucky to have come upon such kindness. You dont see this very often. You should be very proud of your family, they must be lovely and this is what this gentleman has seen. I am also glad you have called him a gentleman, as he truly is.
