My 6 year old granddaughter was entered in the Miss Illinois Princess Pageant about a month ago. Today we got a call that she has been accepted. She made it to the state finals. My granddaughter is so excited, and so are all of us. She is a wonderful beautiful girl inside and out.

Congratulations and I wish your granddaughter the best of luck in the pageant. My oldest daughter was into pageants and we did them as long as they were fun for her. I can relate to the other comments here about the way some pageants are run. You may encounter some rude people and stuck up little girls. When the contestants start thinking they are better than all the others and won't carry on a conversation then it is time to move on. I was very proud of my daughter when she had gotten this all out of her system. She had a small group of friends and they all supported one another. It was with some of the other girls that the problems popped up. To me, there is just not an excuse for rudeness and hurting others feelings for no reason other than meanness. I hope this pageant is not one of those kinds and your granddaughter has a lot of fun. That's what it should be all about...fun!

Thank you, If it turns out that way, then it isn't the pageant for her. She is very sweet and likes everyone.

Congrats. That is great. I hope that she has a lot of fun. I know that some people are agaisnt them but if she wants to do it than let her. Not all pageants are bad. My daughter has done a couple that are no makeup allowed. She used to love them but has gotten a little fed up with them so we stopped for now. Good luck and let us know how she does.

Thank you, in this pageant you can't wear makeup. It's a personality and natural beauty contest. She has a great personality and is very excited.

You had to enter her into a contest to ask if she is a princess? Nana you need to take a look at what they do to those girls before you commit.

To me she is already a princess.

Nana I know that already.. the thing is that these type of contests change children, they change parents. You are putting her on stage to act and perform , be something she may not be at such a young age. There are very real dangers. That is my concern. I might be butting in where an opinion is not wanted. If I am please tell me. But again I would ask you to examine and do your research.

Thank you, I will keep everyone posted. It's not a pageant were the kids wear makeup. We wouldn't have her in one like that. She is very out going and excited. We will all be with her.
