When do kids wipe good?

My 7 and 5 year old sons have been potty trained for some time, and I obviously taught them how to wipe and watched them do it for a long time after they learned to make sure they did a good job. Now I don't go in because I like to give them privacy but occasionally I see skid marks on their undies when I go to do the wash! Sometimes they are pretty bad ones, yuck! When do they start to wipe good?! Any suggestions for me? I've tried those kid wipes, but they use like 7 at a time and they are gone within a couple of days reguardlss of what I tell them (no more than 2 wipes and still use the TP)

Well, uh, I'm afraid the news isn't good. My husband's undies have been known to have some pretty bad skid marks...and he is 55 years old. I'm still working hard with him though. Seriously, sometimes it is the nature of the 'job' as to how well one can clean. We have dubbed those particular types of 'jobs' as 'smear-o's' in our home. Seems you wipe and wipe and there is still evidence! I can imagine that is hard for a 5 and 7 year old!

LMAO omg HAHAHHHA smear-o's! I am dying here! that has the be the funniest thing I have ever heard!! that is great! LOL I am going to tell that to the boys sometime, they'll think thats the funniest thing in the world! LOL about hubby. Well it appears to me that if we dont improve I might be raising them to have that issue when they are older!

That is SOOOO gross!! My daughter is 6 and she never had skid marks. (well maybe when she was first potty-training) I would get on to her if she did because i probably wouldn't be able to get the marks out of her panties =) And I would be pissed if she ruined them all the time because she didn't wipe good!! But with my son he isn't potty-trained yet but I can only imagine!! Boys are SOO different!!! I know I will have a huge load of skid-marks when he starts wearing big-boy undies!!

Well there is one way to solve the problem, no undies lol. But then you would have to deal with skids on clothes lol. I don't know when they actually start wiping good enough, I am still waiting for mine to. I ahve some great pre-spot spray I get from Mela that takes the stain out if you use ot before you wash. I am never without it lol.

My kids go through wipes almost as fast as toliet paper. here is a recipe for homemade wipe. They are cheaper than buying them and work real good but I don't suggest them to be flushed, they might cause clogging. Buy a roll of paper towels, strong ones like Bounty work best. Cut the roll in half and remove the cardboard center. Mix 2 cup of warm water, 2 tablespoon of baby oil and 2 tablespoon of baby soap like baby magic baby bath and pour into a wipe container. It works best in a round stand up wipe container, you can buy one usually at a dollar store. Put the paper towels in, after closing the lid tip the contain upside down slowly so all the liquid is absorbed. Or you can place paper towels first than pour liquid over them. Start pulling from the middle of the roll. 1 roll of paper towels makes 2 batches of wipe. I personally prefer to use these wipes over the stores. They seem to clean better and are so much cheaper.
