Have you ever received a free birthday invitation from any of your local restaurants? I just received an invitation from this restaurant nearby and plan on enjoying this dinner. If you did get an invitation, did you take advantage of the free dinner or did you let it pass by? I am not sure how this restaurant found out about me or my birthdate but hey, a free dinner is hard to pass by, right? :-) Do you think there is a catch to this invitation?

June 25th is my birthday actually so the invitation is early but am planning to call to make reservations for myself. LOL I have to use it on my birthday so I will go right after work. The menu they have online looks really good. Here is the website to the restaurant I got the invitation from. http://www.caffegelato.net/

Hmmm... well maybe I can feel curious with the invitation, I mean it's ok if it's totally free, but if it's not at least I paid for my birthday party with a worth amount with the food -lol- Are you already go there? Please tell us your experience after it :)

I've recieved birthday dinners and drinks from my favorite casino, and it was totally free, but of course this will make you want to play more, so it works out for them... I love being treated and comped, it's part of my business and I realize that "One Hand Always Washes The Other" so I will treat and comp other people, too! :) I always try to attend these events because it's rude not to show up, and it might get you booted off the list... This weekend, as a matter of fact, I'm attending a free breakfast and business presentation from Ebay, it's at 9am, hardly my hours, as I am a "night person" but I'll be there with bells on! :) I'm going to get a free IPOD for attending, too! :)

I have never gotten one of those. Your lucky if it is legit. if I ever got one, I would probably redeem it. So I guess birthday wishes are in order for you. Whenever it is, I hope you have a wonderful day. Mine is coming up on the 8th.

Hi Tammy. I do not think there is a catch other than you can only spend up to $20 of their money. After that you have to pay and it is a pretty pricey restaurant. I am definitely going to take up their offer and see what it is like.

I agree that there has to be a motive behind the free dinner, as now days nothing is free, but we do get free birthday invites for dinner and other perks mostly fron casinos we visit but there is a motive there also get us in for dinner and than we will stay and gamble.I do have friends that will go and just eat and leave -me so so easy if Im there well I have to spin a few wheels and than ny dinnner wasnt free after all.

i never had the luck to have those free birthday invitations. huhu. poor me. and you are lucky ken! that's one good gift for you. maybe someone in the restaurant is your stalker. hehe. joking! or maybe, it's true. if ever it happens to me, i won't let it pass by, too. it happens just once a year and maybe, once in a lifetime! so, i better grab the chance and enjoy. oh, are you gonna bring someone along? i hope so. dinner in a restaurant is boring if you're just alone. happy birthday ken. when will it be?

Hmmm. I don´t want to be a spoilsport, but if you don´t know how the restaurant found out that it´s going to be your birthday soon (Congrats, dear friend) it seems a bit dodgy to me. But it´s possible that a friend of yours gave them their birth date. You could always phone before you actually go there to check if it´s really free. And if it is, go and enjoy in. That´s what I would do. The restaurant is not going to go bankrupt because of one free dinner. I´ve not only ever received an invitation like that, I´ve never even heard of it before.

I never got one, my dad and my brother have though. Yea, there is no catch, the only catch to it is that they want to show you that there food is good so you will come again, if they give away one meal, but get to you continue to come, they just made some more money and another costumer =).

I've had this happen several times, many restaurants are associated with local clubs and if you join them you often get a voucher for a free dinner. I've always gone, as you say a free dinner is a free dinner. The ones I have had have never had a catch - you just had to be a member and they send promotional stuff automatically. Happy birthday and enjoy your dinner :)

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday Dear Ken! Happy Birthday to you!!!! And many more!!!! Have a good dinner. I have received coupons for a free ice cream cone for my birthday, stuff like that. The restaurant is hoping that you will be a repeat customer and also that you will bring a paying customer with you when you get your free dinner. Have fun and I hope they have good food.

Wow...good for you. I would read the fine print though...there are usually catches to these things. After all you don't get much for free in this world. I have never got one of these invites or know of anyone who has...but if it is free ...then enjoy your dinner...

Humm are they serving sea food ? Something smells fishy to me. I can't imagine any restaurant owner knowing your birthday unless you're friends. Is there a possibility someone who cares about you more than you thought has made a romantic reservation ? At any rate go enjoy your Birthday meal and Please keep us up to date !!! I'm being nosey. hehehe. Happy Birthday My Dear Friend Ken.

That's... very nice. I have never got this before. The most I have got would be vouchers (usually just discount - or bring 1, yours is free) from cards or memberships. Go ahead and enjoy your dinner. Unless the place is somehow dubious, why not? You can always call the double check that you don't have to pay a cent before going in person. ;-)
