When responding to a previous discussions about names, I had a thought.. Would you change your name? Do you like you name or hate it? I'm content with my name even though there have been many instances in my life where my name has been mispronounced. But I still won't change it.. Would you?? And if you could, what would it be??

My name is made up (my mom and dad's name meshed together) so as a result no one has heard it, and everyone misspells it and mispronounces it. It's horrible all the different variations of my name I get! Lol, I'm quite used to it though, so no I would never change it. It's different but nice, especially so when people get it right! Haha. =)

Oh boy!! Surely this will be the first (and most probably last! Heh!) time I'll say my real name around these parts.. it's Victania. Can you say it? It's pretty much said the exact same way it's spelled, Vic (of Victor) and Tania but put together. Vic-tania. I fail to see what's so hard about this! But you should hear the mess I get.. Victoria, Veronica, Viviana, Tatiana, Vickiana.. I could fill a 300 page book just of misspellings and mispronunciations! Lol!

OMG!! I love it~!! Seriously~! Victania...that wasn't so hard to pronounce. I got it right the first time I read it~! =D I really do think it's a beautiful name even though I've never heard of it before. Which i think makes it sound even prettier and unique~! Thanks for sharing Victania.. Oooh, I love saying that.. Sounds so exotic.. Victania.. Victania..

Aww.. that's sweet! I have a few friends who's names are a mixture of their parents as well~! Mind if I ask what it is?? =P I'm sure it would sound lovely.. And maybe I could be one of those that pronounces it correctly.. =)

nope, i will not have my name changed, i just want to add a second name.. id like to have two names.. im content with my name right now, quite unique since i have fun when people have hard time pronouncing my name.. if you pronounce it correctly its a male name, if not then itll become a female name.. if given a chance to choose another name itll be alfred.

one reason is that a seat mate of mine back in college thought my name was alfred, half of the semester! she and her friends thought that way too! and the other reason is that i kinda like the meaning of the name "wise counsel." ;)

aaah.. ic! so why alfred anyway? any particular reason? then maybe once you have a second name, people might not call you by your first anymore, since it's hard to pronounce.. =P

Growing up, I hated my name with a passion! All of my friends had cute names like Debbie, Candy, Sandy, Mandy etc. etc. but I was saddled with a name I concidered awful, (Brenda) but you know what, as time went by, I grew to like my name and now it fits me to a T, wouldn't change it for the world now!

Hey Brenda! Well, I sure do prefer Brenda than Candy! Although maybe back when you were a kid, Candy did seem to be cuter! =P Well, good to know you sticked with 'Brenda'. =)

No I would never change my name, I was named after an uncle. I have no idea why maybe my mom forgot to tell my dad he had a baby daughter, any how Robin it is and Robin it will stay. many people have tried to get me to change it to Robyn, but no thanks and some people just automatically think because I am a woman it is spelled yn, but I just laugh and tell them any one over the age of 30 with the name Robin it is spelled The old fashioned way.

LOL~! The old fashioned way it is then! Either way, I think Robin is still a nice name. It's still pronounced the same so I don't see the need to change the spelling~! =D

Actually my name HAS been changed lol. When I was born my mother named me Patricia Ann. Then when I was 10 weeks old, I was adopted, and thankfully, my adoptive parents had the good sense to change my name because I HATE Patricia. I don't look like a Patricia LOL. I don't mind my name now, though I do find it to be quite a common name. I would have liked something just a little more unusual, but I guess it was a popular name back in 1978 lol.

I've no plans of changing my name. I used to detest it when I was a kid. And I really got annoyed when people fail to pronounce it and assumes my name was for a boy! On the contrary, I'm totally lovin my name now.

Hmm..I have a love/hate relationship with my name (Stephanie) Love it because it IS a rather nice name with a nice meaning ('crowned one') but hate it because it is really really COMMON. In 2005-2006, my class had 3 Stephanie(s). Same spelling and everything. We ended up calling each other by our surnames just to minimize the confusion caused but it was still very inconvenient and irritating. However, this is the name my parents granted me and so I will just have to respect that. Besides I have grown used to it and changing it now will just be a hassle =)

The crowned one.. that's nice! I used to have a friend named Stephanie too back when I was growing up in the States. I actually I had a few.. hehe.. and they were all nice! I like Stephanie. I bet it suits you just fine and yeah, changing it would be a hassle! =D

I wouldn't change it. I am who i am, and i don't have any problem with my name. That doesn't mean that i think that my name is the most beautiful on earth, but it's my name after all. I wouldn't change it.

When I was a kid I used to dislike my name as the kids used to rhyme it with other names and tease me. Not that it was considered bullying but harmless teasing. As I've grown older I am quite accepting of my name and am very glad my parents gave me an easy to pronounce name although some might say it's an old fashioned name as I don't often meet young people with my name :) So I guess I'm happy with my name and wouldn't change it to anything else. x

When I was young, I always envy my friends who have beautiful names. I always asked my parents why they name me "Joy". They explained to me the reason why. Then I understand that my name doesn't sound so ugly after all. ^^;

I think numerology consider that by changing our names will bring luck to us .Though now a days lot of people think or understand that the there is something in our names which may change our luck altogether and in india lot of people especially politicians change their names for getting luck in politics and it may not help them in politics atleast if they escape from the beat from their wife it will be good thing.

My mom has given me my name as a kid when I was born. She named me after a girl who is in her college. Actually my mom liked her name very much so she kept it as my name. But as I grew older acoording to some astrologers my name was not according to what it should be so I changed my name but I am still called by the name which my mom had kept it for me. And I too liked to be called by that name.

So if you don't mind me asking, what was your previous name and your current one? But it is still okay to be called your old name since your astrologer thought that you should change it?
