you're at???? I live in NJ, USA and a lot of people who live here snd retire move to Florida. I don't think I would want that for myself- too hot- I think I would rather move to the mountains like Pennsylvania, where it's cool rather then hot and humid. How about you?

Well I guess we'll go to Spain, - not to the coast like most Brits do, but to the mountainous regions. My partner has spent over 20 years living in cold, damp Britain and living/working in a language and environment that is not his own, primarily to please me!!! So we always agreed that when my Father passed (he is 81 now), and we retired, eventually we would move to warmer climes so he can feel more "at home". He doesn't particularly want t retur to South America for lots of reasons, so Spain is the nearest place he can at least speak his own language!

Well good luck wth whatever you both decide. To be honest, all his relatives are still in Argentina, and a lot of mine are still back in Russia, so wherever we live isn't going to be that near either of them! Maybe that makes it easier! LOL!

Spain sounds Beautiful- how sweet the two of you are- my husband and I have been argueing for years - he wants to go to Vermont which is 5 hours from here and I want to go to Pennsylvania cause its only 2 hours from here- I don't want to be completely isolated from friends and family who still live here....so it's still up in the air

mmm good question - I love Scotland and am proud to be scottish but I have to admit the weather isn't so fantastic! I know of a lot of people who retire and move to Spain but I think that may be too hot for me as I burn very easily in the Sun! Thinking about it I would probably stay in Scotland and move nearer to the sea, I have always wanted to live right beside the sea! xxx

I love Nature, and I'll be heading to Canada where it's not so under threat of developers and such... then I have a thing for the South Pacific, probably Vanuatu or Fiji, beautiful, Peaceful and fun... Gotta make sure that the Earth knows that I haven't forgotten Her, ya know! :)

When I retire I know I will have to downsize my house as I have no pension so I will need the money to live on. However I would like to move to the coast as the sea is so relaxing, but it would all depend on where my children were living and if they still neeeded me around.

I don't have a pension either- I'm hoping to get a job with the state so I can get one--- every little bit helps. In Pennsylvania the houses are much cheaper the in NJ so I think I would be okay- just something small would be perfect.

I think I would stay here, but go to Florida in the winter. As it gets really cold here. I live in Indiana, USA and it is cold from November until March about every year. I can't wait to retire, I just hope that I have enough money to live on comfortably.

I'm not really sure what I would do. But I will probably stay where I am at or close by. I have lived in the same area all 43 years of my life and I am very resistant to change.lol.

I did stay where I was at and would not think of going anyplace else. I had every think I like just a few minutes or a couple of hours away. The beach, the ocean, the mountains, rivers, big cities small towns I think I have it all in Savannah,

That is a very good question and I have been thinking of it regularly. Singapore is a great country, but the space is fast and if you don’t keep with it you will fall back. I would like to move to a country where the demands are not stressful and where I can enjoy my old age. These are not the only factors that I have, my children will also be a great concern i.e. where will they be, my wife and me would like to be within the same country and at least near to them (we can take about 5 to 6 hrs flight)

Hi shambuca, if I have the opportunity, I would move to another place but not migrate to another country.

It's a good idea to live in a place far away from noise and crowds when we retire. The place you mentioned is just an ideal.I long for such place, too.

It all depends on your situation. It helps to have some money to pay for a move. It also helps if the area is lower in cost of living to help your sometimes limited funds to go further. Some move to be with family. I think that if I don't have a paid for place of my own again I might move and start a new retired life. Whenever that is. Don't know when I will be tired enough to be retired. Good luck to you!!

I guess it depends on where my family is- I would want to stay here in upstate NY- if my daughter and her family stayed in this area- If she moved away and got a good job elsewhere- I would probably retire to where she was- I'm thinking NC-- by the beach- It would also depend on my parents and my brother!

I would go to tropical places where life is cheaper than here. I would write a book or open a shop, just something to make me busy. I would have a lot of pets or volunteer for saving animals. I definitely won't live here, the winter will be very unbearable for retirees.
