Would you choose the rolloercoaster or the carousel?

You could be at the amusement park or just a day in your life. Do you want to spend it on the rollercoaster or on the carousel and why? For me I'd choose the carousel, so I could enjoy all the sights and sounds as I slowly circled around. Younger I would have picked the rollercoaster, it's great when you're going so fast, your hair is flying in the wind and the safety bar is holding you in place upside down. In life though a carousel is easily my choice.

I'm definitely skipping the carousel and heading for the nearest roller coaster. When I hit theme parks I'm looking to get a thrill. Carousels just don't provide the thrill I'm looking for. I'd rather ride something bigger and better.

I think you really mean something faster, higher and with more twists and turns! They certainly are a thrill!

rollercoaster by far, I love them. The taller the better, I want something fun and fast.

I would be on the carousel because I don't like roller coasters. The heighth of them scare me. You won't even catch me riding a faris wheel...lol

I understand the height factor - you won't catch me on a ladder past the 3rd step for the same reason!

I would probably choose the carousel because it is a ride my kids could go on too. I could watch the happiness on their little faces as it goes around and they wave at the people standing off of it.

yup. rollercoasters make me sick, too. but i love the challenge and so, i take a ride but not whole day long. but with carousels, i don't mind riding it as many times in a day. i don't feel sick riding it. i feel just relaxed and happy.

I understand the fear of heights. The older I get the more it bothers me. I get the sick to my stomach too but I usually got that on those rids that spun real fast. Thanks for sharing.

I wld choose the roller coaster, always. The speed, the twists and turns, get my blood pumping and make me remember that I am actually alive, the thrill of the ride is the best, the caurosel moves too slowly for my liking.

Hmmm.... I am not really sure of what I would choose. I hate carousels. Not only I get sick going around but I just don't like going around and around looking at the same things getting nowhere. My first thought is that I would choose the rollercoaster , however that one doesn't appeal to me as well. I can deal with the normal rollercoasters or yesteryear but not with the new ones with turns and upside down curves and all that... I like to go fast and I don't mind the normal dips of a rollercoaster but I really don't appreciate all the new stuff. Maybe I would pick a traditional not too risky rollercoaster? :) But never the carousel.

I don't even know which one my last one was, but one thing I know I stay clear of the new ones LOL Stay even clearer of the carrousel , I get sick just looking at it going around and around hehe

I truly understand your points. The rollercoasters of yesteryear were my favorites too. I haven't even been on one of these new ones - I think my last was the Loop.

Roller coaster for me as I'm a coaster junkie! I live for coasters and will be hitting Cedar Point in August for their coasters. I guess it's the adrenaline thrill that makes them so fun for me.

Sure is. And the thing about them is that they seem to be one of the safest risks a person can take in their lives, that is, for those who like riding coasters.

Merry-Go-Round! - carousel
20 years ago I would have taken the roller coaster (the old-fashioned kind- LOL), Todays coasters scare me with the speeds, sharper turns, upside down parts and loops! I rather take the more mellow carousel, thank you!:-)

Well, I'm a coaster junkie, so I have to go with the Roller Coaster lol. I get such a buzz when the wind is whipping through my hair, and the coaster twists and turns. It's much like life, you never know where the twists and turns are, and it's exhilarating! I feel personally that life is too short to spend watching the days go by. Excitement and energy is the name of the game for me :o)

This is easy for me to answer as I am deathly afraid of the roller coasters so it would be the carousel for me. I actually have very nice memories of riding a carousel when I was a kid so for me it would bring back some happy memories to relive.

Hi there, I would gladly choose the ghost train lol... Since thats not an option here, I would go for the carousel for the same reason, the view...

I'd choose the roller coaster, only because I don't take very many risks and would like to feel more free and adventurous.

i prefered to ride on a roller coaster because this is gives me a lot of thrill in life. and this makes more brave and strong to face my fears. at first i was so afraid to ride with this type of ride. but eventually i was enjoying it. little by little. first i used to ride in slow motion ride then eventually i shift to more faster then in the end i i tried it. it was so fun it was me and elder brother who ride this thing. and it's a heart pumping and breathing taking moments in my life. i thought that time that i'am going to do die but passed it and i made it....

I would definitely choose the roller coaster first.. I'm a sucker for all the adrenaline pumping rides~! But I do love carousels as well.. Once I'm already tired and I wanna relax and just enjoy the view, I go on the carousel. One thing about it though is that the queue is always so long! =P

i have tried the rollercoaster many times already. and i had lots of fun. but i admit, rollercoasters are really a scary ride! but it's worth it. however, if i get to choose in between carousels and rollercoasters, i'd choose a carousel ride. there are times when i feel not getting a rollercoaster ride... it depends on my mood. but with carousels, i can ride it anytime of the day and i can do it without limits. unlike rollercoasters which i don't really ride in to the whole day. or else, i will go home dizzy and sick.

I understand the reasons for the carousel, but in life, I think you would experience much more with the rollercoaster. It's scarier, more exciting, and maybe more rewarding. I think I'm the rollercoaster type myself.

Excellent points but other than scarier they could work for both, depending on where you are in life at least I think so.

I would choose the roller coaster. Although it wouldn't be good for my back, it would provide an adrenaline rush I don't normally get anymore. I'm 26, and would want to enjoy the rollercoaster, because before long I'll be riding that carousel with a few children and a husband standing by.

I would definitely choose the carousel. So I can just relax and have fun without have to scream to my sore throat with my daughter and husband. I like rollercoaster but maybe just once or twice and that's enough for me. Unlike my friends who crazy about rollercoaster. From all the attraction in the amusement park, rollercoaster is the only thing they willing to stay in line for more than 30 minutes....

I wanted to ride a rollercoaster if given the chance but with a condition. I have to make sure this rollercoaster is safe. I don't want to die yet. LOL. To be very safe I can ride a carousel anytime. I want safety before anything else to keep me alive. Life is a gift I still want to enjoy. Thanks for enjoying life and being my friend in mylot. God bless all!

I most definitely can relate to the safety factor. Here in the US they have to meet safety standards and are constantly inspected. We don't generally have that concern. Carousels are always pleasant though. The coasters depend on how many times you can handle going upside down and taking crazy turns at high speeds. They can be a real thrill but they're not for everyone!
