I like bottles better because I seldom drink more than half at a time. So, it is nice to be able to close them tightly. I don't notice much taste difference, but I have cut way down on pop consumption.

I prefer the bottles for the same reason as you do. I never finish pop right away, and screwing the top back on and saving it for later is convenient. We pay a deposit and have to return both cans and bottles, so that's not a factor. I know that it's probably my imagination, but I always think that the pop tastes better from a plastic bottle. It seems as if it's flatter or something from the can- like the metal takes some of the carbonation out of it or something.

how do we determine if there is a difference in the taste between cans and bottles.? There seems to be a mixed opinion on this....

I much prefer cans, because I was put off bottles, especially drinking direct from them, I was told that pubs that sells bottled drinks leave their bottles in the back yards where rats and vermine are allowed to urinate etc on or near them, the fact that I heard the story makes me always wary now, besides tins are far better surely than glass? Especially for the safety aspect?

I have never heard of this before. You have made a point that some of us have to consider. That is terrible because you know a germ is a germ...and some actualy are very hard to kill...wow, this is a very important point.

I personally prefer the capped bottles for pouring drinks at home where they will get used up faster (I hate flat soda) but I also buy canned as they are easier to take with you in the car. I dont notice any difference in the taste.

I prefer bottles because they fit nicely in your hand and who wants to sip a can of alumium? I prefer to drink a bottle of plastic...

do you notice an actual taste difference or is it just me? I am curious now, about what the truth is on this. Is there any chemical difference possible?

I'm like you and I perfer the plastic bottles because I can put the cap back on and not have to finish it right away. However, I also like cans because I recycle them to make some extra money. So, at work I buy soda in plastic bottles, but at home, I use cans. As far as a difference in taste, I don't really notice any difference between cans and bottles.

I must have weird taste buds because I do taste a difference. The bottles taste better to me and I have no idea why? Could this be just n my mind?

If they are in a cooler, I prefer cans. It seems like they get colder. If I am driving down the road, I prefer bottles as they have the caps.

I prefer to bottles for my soft drinks. I think bottles are more convinient than cans because of the cap. I don't really feel that there is a taste difference in between cans and bottles softdrinks. But if someone drinks and feel the taste at the same time may can find very little difference. If you drink in different times you don't feel the that very little difference though.

I like the taste in a can, but I usually prefer a bottle because then I don't have to finish my drink in one go.

I don't drink soda often at all, but when I do I go for the plastic bottles too, just becuse I like having a cap! I dont notice much of a taste difference, although I totally prefer fountain drinks with lots of ice, now those are yummy :)
