Anyone here have Irish Twins?

Nope, I don't. My closest "set" are 18 1/2 months apart. My sisters are 10 months and 29 days apart though. For some reason they always prefered to use the exact number rather than just say "almost 11 months". I know another mom that actually had two children with the same birth year...one was in January of 1977 and the other was December 1977! That certainly confused people.

I do!!!! My daughter is 10 months 3 days younger than my son. I also happen to be Irish. So I am familiar with the Irish Twins thing. The Irish believe that any two kids being born less than a year apart are called Irish Twins. You know I think a lot of people are unaware of the Irish Heritage, because a lot of people ask me "are they twins?". I tell them no, but they are "Irish Twins". About 90% of people look at me a go "Huh?". So I normally have to explain it to them.

I love my kids. I really do. But I dont think I could have handled them so close. My son was just 3 when my daughter was born. I got really sick with my pregnancy and he took it well. I was in bed a lot so we watched a lot of movies. I could not carry him much and I spent most my time hanging out over the toilet. My Doctor said it is a rare pregnancy like that but I would have lost it if I had a baby too. You guys are much stronger than me.

I have discovered that there are a LOT of people who have kids very close together. I got pregnant when my first son was 7 months old, so my kids are not actually less than a year, but it is still pretty difficult! Looking after two kids is never easy, but when they are so close in age, it can be really stressful. What everyone has been telling me is that when they are so close in age, they grow up as best friends. So, even though the first few years might be awfully hard, just keep in mind that it should get a lot easier later on. At least that is what I keep telling myself!

lol I never heard of that before .....For me I had my daughter Cierra Oct 3rd 1996 and Jessica Nov 17,1997 Britney Mar 9 1999 Reuben July 25th 2000 Jonathan Oct 13th 2002, Adam Apr 5th 2004, Timothy nov 15th 2005, and the new addition is due Aug 4th 2007 =) NO MORE!!!!!!! How about you when were the other boys born and do you plan to have any others close together?

I have just recently heard this term on the message boards! Funny cuz my husband is Irish! We dont technically have irish twins, ours are 13 1/2 months apart! When are you due?

Someone once said that to us, but our two girls were 15 months apart which was already tough on the missus. We almost had a 11 month'r, but that was not meant to be.
