Accidents can leave a terrifying impression on your mind for a lifetime. I have had an accident when I was in college. Was driving a two wheeler and suddenly from nowhere a beggar came running on the road to cross it and i hit him. Luckily I was slow and he got some minor bruises but till date I get shivers when i think about it and although he wasn't supposed to come running on a main road, i still think it was my fault and feel guilty about it.

I've been in two accidents...neither one had any major injuries (thank goodness) and neither was my fault so I didn't have to pay the deductible. The first accident happened when I was driving to work. The light was green and my lane was clear, but the left lane was backed up, so I was going slower than the speed limit (35ish in a 40). A guy in a van waved this woman through to turn into the McDonald's (over a double yellow line) and I hit the side of her car. The only injury in that accident was whiplash that lasted about 2 days and then it was fine. The car was fixed up and you couldn't tell that it was in an accident. The second accident was on the freeway on the way to work. There was construction on the freeway, so no one was going faster than 20 miles an hour. Everyone started braking except for the person behind me, who hit me. Everyone was fine, no injuries at all. But THAT accident totaled my car. Go figure. No accidents since...the last one was almost 6 years ago. Knock on wood to not jinx that!

I forgot to add that it took a long time to not think about it and have a bad flashback. The first accident had 2 kids in the back seat, but I mostly hit the other car's back so they weren't hurt at all. There was nothing either of us could have done to prevent it...she didn't see me and thought that she was clear and I didn't see her until it was too late.

Feels terrible when you car gets totalled without no fault isnt it? Its a huge financial loss but i guess thats why they are called accidents, sometimes its nobody's fault or at times you pay for somebody else's fault and the other way round. There's nothing worse than when kids get hurt in an accident and you are lucky the kids were safe.

I drove a motorcycle once. I had a passenger on the back seat and we were on gravel roads. I cut a corner to short and laid the motorcycle on the gravel and we both got skinned up legs, but her leg was also under the tailpipe and she got some serious burns. I never drove a motorcycle after that and to this day do not like them!

I don't blame you for being scared! It's tragic even though no one got really hurt!

I've been in the car with people who have had accidents, but it was always the other person's fault, not the person I was in the car with.
