If a man only wants to marry to carry on his name. Than he is marrying for the wrong reasons. Espically in this day and age that has alot of kids out of wedlock. I think people should marry out of love. Not anything else. If the man would choose to marry a woman he loves. Than find she is barren. They could always choose to adopt. When you adopt the child will carry on the family name.

I once have a same worry. My boyfriend is his family's only son .and in China, the desire for a boy to avoid the family name dying out is too common ,especially in countryside. Then if I can't have bear a son,can I still keep the marriage and make myself accepted by his family? So I think if we find ourselves in these worries, then we have no choice but try to confirm the will of our men to be firm enough to protect our love and withstand the pressure from his family~~

I think that would be a foolish reason to marry a woman, just to have a baby. If they wanted to they could hire a woman to do that, get a surrogate. I think they need to keep that in mind as well if they love a woman who can't have children. There are women out there more then willing to be a surrogate mother. There are also many children that need a family. True they might not be genetically their child but if it's just the name they are worried about what would it matter? They would be their child.
