How do you overcome depression?

Right now, I just feel sad & helpless. I am in a really bad situation & am trying desperately to get out of it. I can't say what it is. Just that I want to stop feeling so down. And wondered what you all do to lift your spirits when you feel like this.

Sometimes singing and listening to music helps me. Another thing that helps a lot is something called biofeedback. It's great for reducing stress and depression. I'm so sorry you feel so bad :/ Usually what helps me is cuddling with my cat (animals are known to make you feel less depressed, petting and cuddling them reduces stress levels apparently), listening to music, having a walk outside or doing something artistic. It's important to try and get your mind off things, if you keep dwelling on whatever is making you feel so down then you won't feel better. I think watching a movie with a good positive message about life and humans helps too, actually.

I work, eat right and get sun. Gardening is an excellent way to get some exercise in the sun. Humans should live in caves and need to go outside and get food. Gardening is the closest modern day activity that brings the human closer to their being.

If u feel sad and helpless.. Just take a cup of coffee... then chat with ur loved one.. if have faith in god.. just read ur holly book or ur favorite book.. I did this only.. these make me free

Muslims have been given message how to get rid of depression. Key words are; patience. pray. And patience can be achieved by6 submitting our will to GOD. Believing GOD who has created universe is with me and i do not need help from any other. And if you do not believe GOD , then you are yourself loser. You will lose the best source of energy

Well, sometimes its unavoidable that we feel depressed for the day..but for the health its not a good side, i believe in Meditation which will balance our mind and helps to be normal at situations

Most time, its my work..with ontime deliveries and work loads. I try to divert mind on music and i feel better.

The best way to overcome depression is to be with someone don't face the problem alone you can have your family, friends that will support you and help you through this trying time. Don't isolate yourself from others, tell them your problem it really helps a lot if you can share your problems to others especially those people who cared for you. Believe me I've been there and trust me and do what i say. Good Luck, God Bless.
