I'm always donating to charities. I'm so proud of the children I have raised. My daughter is almost 17 and she is always donating to charities. The last one I donated to was Heart&Stroke Jump Rope for Heart. There has not been a year I have not donated to them. Part of the money raised goes to newborn heart repair. What was the last charity you donated to? Are there any that you always donate to?

Well at this time I am actually trying to head up a fund raiser for a fellow myLotter (a family of four) that lost everything they ever owned just recently in a house fire.A real tradgedy.I have made a discussion here at myLot to try to get other myLotters to care about eachother and maybe pitch in just a little. So far it is a small response, but I am hoping people will decide to help her & her family with even just a little.:) (That's where I'm donating right now)

I love that you did this because it is rare to be able to help with someone you kind of know. I like to see people help others around them. I mean this way we can see the good that is being done.

I give every year to Diabetic Society, Heart and Stroke, Kidney Foundation, and to my local therapeutic riding center. I would normal volunteer with the riding center also but they don't allow pregnant women to be in the ring just in case something happens and she gets hurt. When the baby comes I will go back to the center again, I love the kids and being with horses.

i am saving money to start a womans group soon, everyday i make it a point to give away something like food, or clothing or money to the needy. i strongly believe tht if one person can look after 5 people in the family then 1 million can look after 5 millions.so we should all do charity and help others thinking them as our extended family

The last charity I donated to was the American Cancer Society- Relay for life- This is my favorite charity- Cancer has touched so many in my life- I also donated to the jump rope a thon in school- I can't remember who it was for to be honest- I also donate to United Way each week through payroll- Mine is designated to the Ronald McDonald house in ROchester, NY- This is where families go and stay when their children are in the hospitals in Rochester- Saves them money by not having to pay for a hotel- I give to this one each year also-

I know about the Ronald McDonald house. It use to be only for families of children with cancer. We stayed at a hospice when my daughter was sick.

Hi... I am in fact doing a charity run this sunday with 5 of my friends... Its 5km for Cancer Research! I have managed to raise just over £300. I've done 3 previously and it's such a good feeling when you get to the end. I'm really looking forward to it. I also shop in charity shops and donate to them to. I usually go to cancer research as I know many people who have been affected by the illness. Wish me luck :0)

We support a child in India through Compassion International. We have been doing this for 10 years on a monthly basis. This is the second child we have sponsored, the first was in Africa.

My sister and her husband just started sponsoring a child in Africa. They sent him money for his birthday and he sent a picture of himself with a goat. That was the best way to for him to spend his money, his family said. He could make money with the goat.

Volunteering is just as good as giving,I think. What in particular do you do when you volunteer, if you don't mind me asking.

I donate to three Chartities here in the UK regularly - just automatically taken out of my wages each month. They are the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Protection of Animals), The Cats Protection League, and the PDSA (Peoples' Dispensary for Sick Animals. I also give money each month to my "adopted" cats, who are looked after by Associations here because, for some reason or another, they will never be re-homed. Here in the UK animals are NEVER put down just because they are homeless or unwanted. These organisations are Feral Cat Care, and the Celia Hammond Trust for Stray Cats.

I always give 12% every month to my church, but as for outside charities the last one I gave was to a Wildlife Refuge. I read a remarkable story about a rescued dog who saved the people who had saved him. So I sent them a little money. Before that I gave to The Voice of the Martyrs. I love to give to charity, but I do wait until I am financially able. But it doesn't take a lot to donate. Every little but helps. Like the boxes in the drive thru at McDonalds? Any coins I get back just go in the box for the Ronald McDonald House. Coins add up. And with giving from everyone all over the world, a lot of situations can be successfully dealt with.

The last charity that I donated to, was where I work. I work in the office of group homes, for folks with MRDD. We have a little lady who is wanting to go to North Carolina to visit her mother, who is getting up in years, and we are trying to get together enough money to send her home for a few days. My last charity before that was to AlleyCat Allies. I love cats, and always looking to save them.

The last charity I donated to was the Unitarian Universalist Gulf Fund. They help Katrina survivors and some large percentage of the money they get in donations goes to that cause.

Well its great idea to donate but imagine why we donate? we help them? no its wrong...Im coming from Macedonia (2000$ GDP per person) which it mean we are so much poor...What we only have to do is investing money in small countries...because increasing industry and so on is best...How you know the money you spent on donating are not gone in some guy sitting and collecting them? I like the donations but i dont want bad stuff...Watch where you spend money and help the poor countries. Thanks in advance of them

Most people can research the charities pretty easily. One website is actually dedicated to show a person how much money goes to the actual 'cause' of the charity, and how much goes to supplies...You can find an awful lot out if you do some research.

I'm not being insensitive, but why only help the poor countries when there are people in my country who are suffering too?
