Do you use name brand or store brand toilet paper?

I usually go with what's on sale so most of the time I buy the store brand. I've found that it's almost identical to the name brand TP in quality and softness. You can also get the larger rolls in the store brand, the same as the name brands. I always try to get at least the double rolls and if I can find them, the triple or "giant" rolls that have 2 1/2 times the sheets what a single roll has on it. Saves me from having to change the roll every day. :)

If my bank account is really low, I'll get the generic brand because saving any kind of money is helpful. If I can afford it though, I'll get Charmin or something else. Because my tush doesn't respond well to generic toilet paper. : (

The only toilet paper I buy is Cottenel Double ot Triple roll (depending if I have a coupon for the Triple) with Ripples. I find that the toilet paper holds up very well, has a good price, and has no lint (the only toilet paper I have found with zero lint).

I always tell my finicky friends this "do you think they have a factory just to make generic or store brand products?", that sets them thinking. I worked for a plastic bag manufacturer. We made bags of all shapes and sizes. Many of the bags were packaged in bags of 10 and labeled with the store's name. Others were just put in a box or a bag without labels. As for toilet paper, some will have 250 sheets and others 300. All the manufacturer has to do is set the counter differently. You get the same product, but with a different label.

I usually try to buy the store brand TP, but my fiance prefers for me to buy the more expensive stuff. There actually is a difference in quality between what I normally buy and what her prefers, so I usually let him have his way. I'm trying to find a nice in-between quality though, that costs less than the stuff he likes.

I buy whatever is on sale, if I really don't like the type of paper I will buy another brand but I am not into brand names.

I definitely would use the store brand. Why would I spend more money just to have a name brand of toilet paper? The store brand works just the same and I like it just as much! :)

I'm a brand name TP person! LOL That's one of the few things I refuse to purchase in generic form unless I have to. I have had days when it's the day before payday and all I can really afford is the generic... but Oooooh do I complain! LOL And I always buy the double rolls too. I stick with Cottonelle or Charmin usually.

Is the Sears catalog considered brand name or generic? I suppose it would be considered brand name huh? When it runs out and we switch to corncobs, now those are generic for sure. HeHe! We use whatever is on sale. We too prefer the double rolls.

Oh TP is one of the things that I insist on buy brand name, my biggest complaint with store brands is the "pilling" effect if you know what I mean.

I stick to one brand after having tried out many brands. Since it can be considered sort of a basic necessity, I buy in "bulk". I normally go for the compact 3x10 rolls pack. More value for money.

You know what Gumball - I always used to go for the big name brands and pay a fortune for the privilege - nowadays however I am with you and buy the much more economical store brand and usually bulk buy when it is on special offer! Thing is the 'toilet roll monster' in our house seems to be constantly ravenous and makes so much toilet paper disappear! xxx

I use the name brand. Charmin in particular because I love the stuff. We don't go through it as fast either because the store brands in my area just stink. They are loose around the roll rather than rolled tightly, so that takes away from the quantity and it tears when you use it. Eh, not many good stores around here that sells a good store brand toilet paper. I'd go for it though if they did so that I could save some money.

I usually buy whatever is cheapest, but of good quality. I don't feel that I have to spend a high price for something that is disposable, but I don't want something that feels like tree bark, either. I have one store brand that I usually stick with, and have never had a problem with that.

Usually I'll go with the brand...however I only bought them if they are in discount and fits my strict criteria. The criteria is each of the rolls costs less than 50 cents. Let's say if a bundle of 15 costs $4.50 then it would costs me 30 cents each and certainly I will buy it. This was because of my wife's bright savings idea...I've to thank her.

I normally buy the Name Brand as I find that the Store brand one is to thin and gets used more then when you buy a named one so really the store brand one is not cheaper as you have to buy more

We are steady users of Northern double rolls. I did have to buy Charmin last time and I was amazed at how THICK that toilet paper is!

I most generally buy the soft and gentle 12 pack, at Savealot. It's a name brand, but it's not as expensive, as some of the other name brands, especially in the big pack.
