I hate this I wake up every morning at 8 am, with the kids. and most everyone I know knows this...So, my guys mom calls this morning at 7:30, lets the phone ring (no lie) like 23 times, I was tired of hearing it so I got up and answered it, she said, "oh, I'm sorry did I wake you?" I m like "yes, kind of." then she says she'll call back....I mean, hello!!! Why would you let the phone ring that long that early, it is obvious someone is sleeping if they do not answer within a couple of rings, right? Do people ever do that to you? It is very annoying!

Here's the thing - when she did call you back was it important? I would never consider calling anyone at that time unless it was important and it would have to be cos I hate getting up in the morning! lol I have had problems with my partners mum in the past but I love her really and she would never do this to me - so sorry that happened, it must be hugely annoying! xxx

Yes that can be very annoying but after 4/5 rings my voicemail picks up and if it's that important then they will leave a message adnd I'll give them a call back when I am ready. I was up at 4 this morning, ugh I am so tired and getting ready to take a nap after dropping the girls off at school and sleep for a hr or two and then get up and get ready to go to the laundry matt, I hae laundry but I know I need some clean clothes and the same for my girls, they go through clothes so fast, it's like dang girls where the heck did it all go?..lol Have a great day! -Lora

I don't face that case, coz i keep my cell phone on silent mode, where i'm not disturbed by the calls, but just wake up at my ease and check the missed calls and then just give a call back to all the missed calls...

Anyone wakes me up in the morning and they get the rough end of my tongue, I am NOT a morning person and I'm like a bear with a sore head if anyone wakes me up! I always put my phone straight onto answering machine so I can filter my calls and the ringing phone doesn't wake me up! If it's important I'll ring them back, also it stops me getting caught with damn sales people!

My mother in law does that, too! My husband has to be at work at 7 am every morning. And the baby and I usually sleep until around 8:30-9:00. At least once a week, my mother in law calls around 7:30 and wakes the baby, and messes up his schedule for the entire day! It drives me crazy!! And she always wants to talk to my husband. I understand that she has mental issues and can't always remember everything, but he's been on this shift for 10 months now! She also has a habit of calling around 6 am on weekends! My husband is a bear when you wake him up, so he has got to the point where he picks the phone up and just sets it right back down if he sees that it is his mom on a weekend morning.

I agree it is annoying espically that early in the morning.23 times wow.Letting a phone ring 4 or 5 times is enough unless it is something important.

I know I think 4 or 5 is ok, but its hard to ignore a phone that just keeps on ringing.

I hate when people do that- or leave a message on the machine saying wake up already I know you sre there sleeping - so what if I am- thats my business- leave a message I'll get back to you - why is that so hard. If you think thats bad both our mothers have keys to our house (in case of emergency) but obviously my mother in law doesn't understand the words in case of emergency because I am stiing in the living room in nothing but a t shirt and underwear and I hear a noise at the door I stand up to look and in she comes...let herself in with the key- never knocked or called just came right in----I was furious and told my husband- he said thats how my family is- (you see we bought his parents house so she thinks its still her house and does whatever she wants).

Wow, I would be so annoyed! Yeah, if the person doesn't answer after several rings, it's pretty obvious that they're either not around or they just aren't coming to the phone, especially that early in the morning! I used to live with my grandparents for awhile, and there was someone who would call them at like 6 in the morning all the time! I don't even know who it was, but they would let it ring forever and I always wanted to keep sleeping so I'd just lay there and wait for it to stop, but it'd keep going and nobody else would answer it either. I finally got so mad that I got up and unplugged the phone, but apparently their phone has batteries in it, so it kept ringing anyway. lol I know I should've just answered it, but I was so mad!!! lol

I only answered because I thought maybe it was my guy who really needed me for something, when I found out it was her I was so mad. She said she'd call back, I was like well if it wasnt that important why keep letting the phone ring! =)

My mother in law does the same thing. She knows what time the girls get up yet she would call me before that. Get an answering machine, that way it only rings like 5 times then kicks to the machine. If someone calls me while I'm still in bed I won't answer..I'll just check the messages when I get up. Most times it won't even be important enough for the person to leave a message.

OMG - I think it is total lack of respect! We, in our family have an understanding, if someone does not answer within three rings they hang up because it can mean a number of things like I am sleeping, in the bathroom, cooking etc. The only time someone will persist is when there is an emergency. You should tell your guy to implement such a rule with his folks too :)!!

yes, I agree, she always does things and swears it is because of her brain damage, she had a neck accident 10 years ago, but I know it isnt that, because she only uses the excuse when it works out for her, like I said...very manipulative, and she'll probably end up saying, oh I forgot! That is what she does...I'll tell her if she calls back though, because it is really rude.

hahaha.. i'd say that was exactly her point. To annoy you. I get that from my husband when he's away on business trips. And yes, he does that because he has an early meeting and is jealous that i could sleep in.. So once again, yeah! people do that to annoy the heck out of you.

My mother does this to me every morning at 7:02 on the dot! I don't understand why she does this, I get up at 7:00 am to let the dogs out and to get my son up for summer school. Hello! I might be busy at the time you call, but don't let that bother you at all! I have asked her again and again not to do it, but it doesn't sink in. She always says the same thing, "I didn't wake you up did I?" Yes, I know that she does it to annoy me, she has issues with my husband. I just wish she would listen to me and quit calling that early. My husband does not go into work until 9:00 am, and for whatever reason she thinks that is too late to start his day. But, she has never let the phone ring that many times! That's insane!

Yes people will call early knowing I am asleep, but after 5 rings they get my answering machine plus a fax machine in there ear. Of course the fax machine over-rides the answering machine so they can't leave a message either....lol The fax machine is good for getting rid of debt collectors also! The buzzing noises throws off there computer generated dialer and will eventually kick the number out of the system as a bad one.

I know what you mean, people do that to me too. I have an answering machine, and my grandson will call and yell, and sing, and stuff to wake me up. He's 10, it's annoying when you're sleepy, ut kinda cute too. My mother in law-well, she has an annoying voice, and will keep calling and leaving messages over and over.

When I was younger, during summer break my grandmother would phone every day at 9am to "wake me up." I've never been a big fan of sleeping though, so I'd usually be up by the time she called.
