Urologist

Well this morning I ended up in the hospital with all to familiar symptoms. Vomitting, sweats, shakes and above all else terrible pain in my kidneys. (I am too familiar because I had this four months in a row during my pregnancy plus a few times after.) They sent me home on antibiotics and pain killers and INSISTED I see a Urologist! Ugh I am so sick of doctors. I haven't even been having my thyroid cared for because I am so sick of doctors (my son is special needs so we have been to the doc so many times). Well guess I have no choice. Need to make sure the kidneys aren't going to fail on me! Anyone here have kidney/urinary troubles? Does anyone with kidney/urinary problems also have fibromyalgia or hypothyroidism?

My daughter has major problems with kidney stones. The 1st time was about a week after her senior prom and she had the same symptoms as you, they doctors thought is was her appendix. She seems to get them every 6 months or so, the last time they said the stone was around a 12mm, which is huge. She was finally diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism and that is what causes her kidney stones.

Afraid I have no knowledge in this area for you but will certainly be keeping my eyes and ears open for any information. I'm so sorry you are going through all of this. I don't like doctors myself but thankfully so far have not had to deal with them too much - minor things pretty much compared to your situation.

no, i cant say that i have but good for you for taking control of your own health! there are so many stories of where the dr has just fluffed stuff off for one reason or another...if you dont look after your own health, no one else will!!!!!!!

I have had multiple kidney infections in the past, but for some reason have been spared of them for many years. I am on medication for hypthyroidism, but it stays pretty well controlled on the meds. I am so sorry you have these multiple health problems. I know what you mean by being sick of doctors. Not much of a life. I do hope you get to feeling better soon. I'll be thinking of you.

I know this isn't the same maildumpster but my daughter has had uti's and kidney infections since she was a baby! She ended up in hospital last week as she was dehydrated due to yet another infection, we are waiting to see if she needs yet another kidney scan! When she was 4 she bled with it - that was real scary and she had to have an isotopic kidney scan. We will find out what they are going to do on Thursday. as for yourself you really do need to look after yourself, what with other illnesses and your lovely son to think of - I know it is a pain but you have to keep yourself as well as possible! Hope things go well xxxx
