Neopets: Item Returned???

TNT Avatar - If you see this in an email from Neopets, you know it's legit. If not, forward the piece of mail as it may be a scam.

I almost fell out of my chair thinking I was in trouble for something when I saw I had mail from theneopetsteam, the official Neomail of Neopet employees. Dear (name removed), The Strawberry Stone Doughnuts you gave to (name removed) was neither accepted nor rejected within the 48 hours time limit and has been returned to your inventory. Yours Sincerely, The Neopets Team http://www.neopets.com Any idea when they started returning things that you've sent people but they haven't checked their account in 48 hours?

I didn't know they did that either! Maybe it's new and they just started it when they changed all the layout. I def. understand why they do it...if you give something to someone that doesn't play anymore they don't want it to go to waste!

Yeah but 48 hours seems a bit quick on the draw. I know the two people I sent stuff to are active at the site. I'll have to wait and see if this happens again. Thanks for the reply!

They just started the accepting and rejecting thingy recently, but I didn't know there was a time limit on it. I think it's only been going for a month or so.

This is something new that they started, I forgot I put this post up. When someone sends you something it goes into an Item Event Log where you can choose to accept or decline the item, anything that isn't accepted or rejected in 48 hours is returned to the sender.

recently, since they revamped the site. I dont like it though. If you go out of town or something for the weekend, anything anyone gives you is lost. It isn't the best time frame, maybe 72 hours or more would be better. A week maybe?

I had no idea that they were doing that. I don't log in regularly so I hope nobody has tried to send me any items.

I don't think I've ever had anything returned on Neopets, but I guess one reason is I haven't been on there for ages (My poor neopet must be dying by now.. I feel Sooooo guilty) and the other reason might be is that I'm too tight to give anyone a donut or anything else for that matter lol - all my friends gave up on neopets a long time ago and I'm afraid I've really neglected mine recently :-(

I don't know if you have gotten the response you are looking for yet, BUT from what I was told, neopets has a thing now that when you send someone an item, they have to accept it in order for it to get transfered to them. That can be annoying when you want to send an item to a friend who may not be coming online for a few days, because after 48 hours you get it back.

I've never heard of that before. Whenever I've recieved anything it just shows the event icon at the top of the screen, it's never asked if I would accept or reject it.
