I had a few ask to be a friend, then they post only to one discussion of mine and then thats it LOL its all good, I don't post many discussions anyways and do a lot of responding instead. You can still be choosy if who you want as friends though by going through their profile and seeing if there is anything in common or whether you like what they post. I do that on occasions especially with the newbies. Do you want another friend to your list?!? LOL

Don't worry about it! Some people are just selfish or they think your topic is not worthy of an answer! That the way it is in life as well. You have people who want others to chill with them all the time, but when you ask them to chill with you, it's a big deal. Just delete them as your frineds and move on! This is a community page, and as such, they want to tell everyone about what they are doing, etc, but never want to look into what you are doing! Have a great day.

This is one of the reasons I am considering whenever I visit myLot. I make sure that in each day, I participate in one of a few of my friends' discussions. To date, I only have less than then friends here online. I am not that choosy in accepting a friend. As a matter of fact, one's profile is not an issue for me to accept or deny a friend request. But whenever I am not tied up so much with time, I see to it that I engage in discussions of my friends when their discussions interest me. But if my friends don't participate in discussions I started, it's still fine. I just keep in mind that maybe, they're busy, not online, or my topics are not of their interest. That's just it.

I see what you mean, but we can never be sure of people's intentions. I ask someone to be my friend bec.I find the person or his views interesting and I can relate to the person's interests.

well you can never say. i have never requested for friends on here not because i can't but because i try as much as possible to see everybody as my friend and also try and accommodate their comments even when its not in line with my opinion. And whenever i log on to mylot i go straight to the hot topic and respond to every discussion there as long as i am still online

I do know what you mean. I have a lot of requests for me to accept them as a friend. I go to their profile always and some of the discussions are nothing like the ones that I start. I don't accept a friend request right away also. As you say they don't even respond to any of the discussions I put up so it seems to me kinda senseless to ask to be put on my friends list. One of the things I have been doing after awhile is just turning off the notification button. I don't have any hard feelings toward these people either. It just kinda makes me wonder what the purpose was for them requesting to be put on my friends list.

I try to hit as many of my friend's discussions as I can in a day. I too have over 300 and sometimes it's impossible unless I want to spend the entire day on myLot. But I do try :D

Nothing wrong with you being you. I don't deny anyone unless they are a spammer or someone that posts way too many discussions in one day that are useless. I had one like that once, had to delete them. I don't answer every single one of my friend's discussions, because either I have nothing to contribute, or sometimes I just don't have a response to whatever they are discussing. I don't mind if people don't respond to my discussions from my friends list. If they do, I am grateful, if not, oh well. At least I have a variety of discussions I can sort through. that's how I look at it.

Girl, I understand I have had so many friend request but I have not seen any of them answering my discussions. I have been away for a short time and post a discussion here and there when I have gotten a chance but not one of the new "friends" I approved have answered a discussion. I definitely feel what you are saying and I agree no hard feelings.

Hey Hun, I've been MIA from Mylot lately but I usually try to respond to your discussions. I try to respond to ALL the discussions that interest me. I think Mylot is somewhat of a popularity contest and everyone wants to see how many friends they could get which doesn't make sense. I have to admit. I haven't been a good friend lately :( I really have to start posting more but i've been lazy lately!

i know how it is.I've been really busy lately myself or just dont feel like posting so i log on now when i can.Peole have things to do. i was referring to people who request to be a a friend and i dont see where they have an interest in my discussions by not even answering one.Like you say a popularity thing.

I can be considered new here. I never deny friend request. I don't even check their profiles when I accept them in my list. My list is not that long so this is not a big problem to me. Like you, I also realized most of them never happen to respond to any of my discussions. Only a few members who are really active in posting new discussions or respond to others. The rest, I don't know what their actual purpose to add me in. Yes, I read the discussion on how to get more responses and to add as many people as you can to your friend list. After awhile, I don't think it is a good idea. Like me, whenever I sign in, I will see the discussions posted by my friends first. I make it a point to respond at least one for each of the people on my list. And, it is not an easy task!

I alway wonder the same thing but I still respond to friends discussions its definatley not fair but i guess that just the way I am and not because this is cyber world we should expect it to be a lot different from the real world

This is the exact reason that I am working to get rid of the friends that are not active. When I go to my friends page and start going through the decussions and then realize that most of them are no longer active, I get frustrated and move on to something else. In fact, I need to go back and work on that right now.

Hi divaschic! Don't let it bother you. I would just accept them (after checking what type of rep they have and discussions they start of course) I don't mind if people don't respond to my discussions so I accept all and I usually respond to some of theirs. If I find they have interesting topics then I accept them so I know in the future I may have something helpful to add to theirs. I am sure eventually someone you accept will respond to one of yours. I added a friend like 3 months ago and they never responded to mine until recently. But that's just my opinion.... ('',)

True enough I have many friends and not many will response to my discussions. Excuse me if I am late in replying to your discussion but frankly I am away most of the time and will only be able to access to internet at least once a month. Glad that I ccome across this topic and I felt i am indirectly being hit by this topic. I was back here in my computer only yesterday 24/6. I try to response to as many discussions as possible when I am around.

Pardon me, my friend because as of now, I am not so active in mylot. I still want to continue doing this thing and the first thing I open here is the discussions my friends started because they are priorities to me. I agree with you, there are many requests among friends being approved, but unfortunately they don't respond to some of our discussions. But I wish they may respond to any or even one on some other days.

Yes, I think that topic did bring in lots of friend request. I've been getting a bunch of them too. I have a bunch of friends that aren't answering my discussions. I know that it isn't possible to answer every one of mine, because maybe they just don't have anything to say or becuase of time restrictions. But, it is dissapointing when they don't even make an attempt to answer one single post. But, I've been so busy answering posts, I haven't had time to start very many in the last couple of days.
