How Do you adjust to being an Army wife?

June 13, 2007 2:47pm CST
My husband joined the Army back in 2004 and he gets out in 2010. I don't really like it much our first year of marriage he was sent to Iraq and he made it back safetly thank God. I was just wondering if there were any Army wives out there that can tell me somethings that I can do to adjust for the next 3 years.

I don't think I could ever adjust to being an Army wife. My husband was in the U.S. Army for 17 years before we met. He was married also at that time. He was away alot and I could not even think of how I would have felt if we were married back then and he wasn't there with me. His marriage didn't last because his ex-wife cheated on him. He said she didn't stay in touch or contact with him and when he came home, she would leave. I would suggest that you both stay in touch somehow while he is away.

We stayed in touch a lot when he was overseas. Communication is the key. Thanks for advice!

That is great to hear. I am glad that you both stay in touch with one another. That shows love. I just couldn't handle being alone without him a long time. I defintely feel for you. You are very welcome for the advice.
