I just got a new laptop with windows vista but all my friends tell me that it is very slow even with minimum 1 GB memory, is it true? should I switch back to windows XP? What is your experience and suggestion?

No, they are exaggerating. 1GB is the right amount to run Vista. It ran perfectly on my laptop which has 1GB of RAM with 128MB of that being used by the video card. If you plan to do any gaming though, you should have 1.5GB or more. I only used Vista on my laptop for a week to test it out. I didn't like it and switched back to XP.

vista works best with 2gb ram minimum 1.5 gb beacuse it has lot of file more than xp it take 8gb of when with vista and only 768mb with xp. and it works fine at first with 1gb but later on it goes slower and slower each program you install. personally i like xp.
