Grey Magic: Magic done with the intent to help, but without the permission and/or understanding of the receiver. Permission is whether the receiver of the magic wants you to do it for them or not. If you don't have permission, it's grey magic at best. Think of it like a medical procedure - the doctor may want to help, but without the patient's permission he is ethically prohibited from doing anything. Understanding is whether or not the reciever understands what you are doing. This is the magical equivalent of medicine's Informed Consent regulations. If you aren't informed and you don't understand what is to be done, then it is impossible for you to consent to it. If you tell them you are going to give them accupressure and then do Reiki, they did not consent to what you are doing. If you tell them you are going to do Reiki and they have no idea what you are talking about and you don't explain it in at least the basic concepts, they are not able to give informed consent since they don't understand what you are going to do.

That's interesting. I'm glad you explained that. I would only ever do white magic and I would only do it with someone elses permission if I was doing it for someone else.

Blessed Be - Blessed Be
Cashman is right. Grey magik is neither black nor white. You may want to obtain something and you will get it but someone may get hurt in the process. Stick with white magik at least with white magik NO one gets hurt and you canreap the rewards legally.

I haven;'t heard of it before and I couldn;t find anything about it by searching. I would guess it is something between black and white magic. White magic is good, black magic is bad so I guess grey magic would be neither good nor bad, maybe just general like making potions and things or maybe that it can be considered bad but not bad enough to be black.
