Stepping out of the box.

Do you always go by the rules and try to define things for everyone else by sticking to the rules or do you step out of the box, trying something new and living on the edge to see how it comes out? When I changed careers to persue my dream of being a writer I stepped out of the box and was met head on with a whole batch of new problems like people being able to accept the new "ME". Have you done something to step out of the box of what people expect from you?

I don't step out of the box very often. I'm usually one of those people that follows the rules. Although I will speak up if I feel I am being treated unfairly.

I have never known what people expect me to do, especially with my life. All my mom wanted was for me to finish highschool and I did.But after that, it was up to me.Do I define things for everyone? No. I have rules for myself. And one of them is not to tell others what to do.I have never been in the box. I have always known what I can and can not do.so I do what I can.

I look at the rules and ask myself if I break these rules is it going to hurt anyone. If the answer is no than I go for it with gusto and a katy bar the door people get out of the way I'm coming through attitude. If you don't like the way I am oh well I guess you better learn to live with it. I am the new improved me. I joined the Air Force back in 69 and you should heard the guff I got. Back then it was thought a women joined the Air Force for no good reason. I went ahead and joined and had a great time. I met and married my husband in the service. But if I think it is for my good and it is not going to hurt anyone than I go ahead and do it. But I think first and than act accordingly.
