Barefoot or shod?

As a kid growing up in the country I often went barefoot and my feet got tough enough to endure sharp stones and surfaces. A habit I like to this day, often going barefoot when I can. Most of the time I am shod it is with sandals even in our winter. How about you, have you ever experienced the glory of letting mud squelch between your toes? Or felt the cool of the dew-laden grass beneath your feet, or the black peat soft underfoot? all the best urban

I love to be barefoot! It's a great feeling. I live in a city now and don't dare go barefoot even in my yard but when I go up north to visit my mom, I love to walk around barefoot outside. I would much prefer to go barefoot that to have shoes on!

I used to walk around barefoot all the time growing up. The driveway we had when I was a kid kinda hurt my feet a bit, but I'd walk on it anyway. Nowadays, I won't go outside without SOMETHING on my feet. Not sure why. I guess I just don't like my feet getting dirty. And then you never know what you might step on.

Being in the city most of the time these days I don't get much chance to go barefoot, except around my home. But I do know the sorts of sensations you're talking about, and sometimes go barefoot on purpose just to experience that old childhood feeling again.

I have never been one of those who feel comfortable when there is nothing on my feet. I even swim wearing some shoes designed for swimming because I am just used to wearing nothing on my feet. I have never been barefoot and I feel bare and naked when I don't have any footwear on.

I really hate wearing shoes (and socks), so they usually come straight off of my feet as soon as I walk through the front door. I don't walk around outside without shoes very often, but I used to do that a lot, particularly when I was younger. I burned my feet pretty badly on the sidewalk / pavement a few years ago, though, so I stopped going barefoot outside. Walking barefoot on the grass in the springtime is the best feeling, though. :)

During my young age I walked barefoot a lot. But due to the constant use of footwears my feet are vulnarable to small stones etc. However in my house and our yard, I move barefoot. Thank you urban.
