Here is a quote from the book called "The Science of Getting Rich"... "If you want to become rich, you must not make a study of poverty. Things are not brought into being by thinking about their opposites. Health is never to be attained by studying disease and thinking about disease; righteousness is not to promoted by studying sin and thinking about sin; and no one ever got rich by studying poverty and thinking about poverty. Medicine as a science of disease has increased disease; religion as a science of sin has promoted sin, and economics as a study of poverty will fill the world with wretchedness and want." From Wallace Wattles nearly 100 years ago. What do you think of this quote? Do you believe it is true? Thanks for your ideas and responses.

i believe it because it 's all about doing what you want, it is a positive step in achieving one's goals.if one wants to get rich , his head should be filled up with waht being rich is all about and literally fill up his sights to the beauties of being rich and exposing one's thoughts to the opposite would make the journey harder.it's more about positive thinking just like napoleon told us in his great book "think and grow rich"

I do not completely agree. It is his opinion. Life is a learning experience. People need to go forth with their dreams and desires, to make them come true. Health is parcially inherited, negative or positive thinking, and some science. Religion is not faith, they are two different things. But, yes, poverty will fill the world with more greed and wretchedness and want. What is your view point my friend?

I have to totally agree with the quotations as they stand. I have read the entire book and in my opinion it is how the universe operates. That is precisely the object of this book, that of making dreams and desires real. The book offers the method do go about creating your dreams.

Wow! written 100 years ago and is oh so true even today. If we want to live a positive live we have to think positive. Thinking and studying negative will only produce negative. If we want to be rich then we have to think and study on all the things that bring us riches, not on poverty. I think that is a very great quote thnaks for sharing it.

Yes friend, but not totally cos if one study about something, he will have experience about it and it will be minimized. Let's put it this way; as a dedicated christian, one need to study sin in order to know little on what God likes and dislikes. If you for instance study disease, believe me that you will know how to tackle disease than he who has no knowledge about it. Hope you understand my little explation? Thanks

Why not study that which is good and learn to live in goodness? Why not study health and learn to live healthy? I think God wants us to live in gooodness and in health. I think the emphasis should be put on the positive side. Thanks for your interpretation.

I also read this book and I must say it gave me a lot of insight about how to get rich. I learned that everybody can become rich. That we can have what we want if we visualize and believe that we will have it. As for the foregoing quote, yes I believe it is true. Although sometimes I have a hard time with this statement, I am trying my best to practice it. Especially with the statement about poverty. It is such a hard thing to ignore, but now I tell myself I should not be bothered by it FOR NOW. I have to focus on getting rich so I can do something about poverty.

Thanks. It is a great book from long ago. I think these statements are profound and ring true today as much as anything. Keep reading the book, and you will gain greater understanding of what you must do.
