Should Dhoni be made India's Captain now?

After dravid the capable men for captaincy are dhoni,yuvaraj and karthik.We are in the process of rebuilding the team again with the loss in the world cup.If dhoni is given captain now and if india lost any game then it would affect him very hard.Young guys like smith have proven a great record.But the scenario here is really different.Let him vice-captain for some more days and organise a good team then hand it over like the australians gave it from steve waugh to pointing.Then allow him to take over it.

I feel Dravid should continue as captain for sometime till we groom a person who can take reins from him forward for quite soemtime. Now that Dhoni has been made vice captain, he should be groomed into leadership role on england tour but we should not put too much responsibility too early as his batting, wicketkeeping are more imp. jobs right now for him to do on imp. tour. Dhoni has good cricket brain and hopefully will do well.

I think their are more better contenders than Mahindra Singh Dhoni in the Indian team right not.With players like Yuvraj Singh in the team the team selectors should think twice before giving Dhoni this post.

First dhoni should concentrate at his career rather to be captain of indian cricket team , i think he would be a great captain after 4 years i mean to say after 2010 world cup.

I accept that Dhoni is a very good and consistent player, who can be trusted upon at the crucial times. But it should also be considered that he is relatively new to Indian team. Sachin, who usually performs well, didnt do well when he can given the captainship. So, may be Dhoni should be made as a Captain in a smaller matches and based on his performance, he can be decided on the future matches. I too believe Dhoni can do well. Captainship is not only the play well, but the team management. This is very important.

Dhoni is a very good player and a wicket keeper. But I think he is too youg to handle the captaincy of India.
