I was recently told I was odd because I take my shoes off at the door. I dont just do this at my own home, but also when I visit others. I just wondered what you do?

I do remove my shoes at the door, both at my own home and when I visit others. I am someone who travel by bus and train (someone who relies on public transport) and I walk a lot on the streets. So, I never feel it right to soil the floor of my own some else's house. I keep my shoes on only when my host insists that I keep them on.

I always take my shoes off at the door. Thats why I have a mat right next to my door in my apartment. So I guess we are both odd :)

Yes, I always take off my shoes at the door all the time. It is much more hygenic this way. I read somewhere that the amount of bacteria under the soles of the shoes is much higher than that in the air. So it is always a good idea to keep the soles of the shoes away from areas inside the house where they can cause contaminations all the time.
