i was wondering now if i had been at least be considered a good employer. is it by not scolding your staffs and employees that you become a good employer to them? what is the line that draws from a good employer from a bad one? is it when you let your employees go their own way of doing things that you become a good one? its so difficult to disassociate your personal opinion and views in dealing with your staff everyday. sometimes you tend to be more demanding to get their salaries compensated but human rights are there to stop you from doing it. being an employer is so difficult to play in your life especially when you see and decide things from the heart and not from your head.

We can never please everybody. But for one to be considered as a good employer... he must stick to the Laws of labour and employment. Giving an additional premium to the benefits of your employees would already be something that they should be thankful for. In being a good employer, it is not necessary that your employees like you. It would already be enough that you give what is due them. If they do not exert effort to give their best in their job, you will always have the prerogative to replace them with better ones, but again, do not forget to consult the law before doing anything of that sort.

The most important factor in being a good employer is to treat your employees with respect. It is okay to criticize them as long as it is in a constructive manner and in private. It is also okay to be demanding as long as you are trying to get them to reach their full potential and as long as you reward them for meeting your high demands. It is never okay to treat employees disrespectfully or to lose sight of the fact that you need them much more than they need you.

You need to be fair to all people whether you like them as much or not. You need be flexible with schedule to the degree you can without screwing yourself.

You must be fair and balanced. Don't allow mistakes to go unresolved and don't be too much of an ogre. Understanding is key.
