sometimes, when I want to choose a discussion to respond, some avatars can affect my decision.if the avatar makes me feel scared or terrible or uncomfortable, then I will pass it.I think it is unfair to its posters, but I can not control myself,I can not figure out one word to respond it. so do you have the same feeling ?can avatar affect your decisions?

personally, the avatar has nothing to do with how i choose the topics or discussions which i am going to reply. mainly, it is based from my interests and how these discussions are related to my everyday living,or the how valuable is the information the poster is giving us. the avatars may look nice or odd, meaningful or no appeal at all, but what really counts is the type of discussions the poster is conveying.

No, the avatar doesn't matter to me. I don't even really look at it. I don't have one so I hope that doesn't mean that people won't respond just because of that.

Boy it's a good thing I didn't post my photo as an avatar, then you'd really be freaked out! Avatars don't affect me, although I would be wary of posting one with the title "Servant of Satan" or "all Westerners must die!" but I am more interested in the posts. I have a hard enough time deciding on whether I can respond to a post to worry whether the avatar is that of a flying witch or a man with a bomb.

Oh yes definitely. I find that if the avatar is interesting, I would want to post to that person's discussions because I would think that he/ she must have interesting personalities. But some of the avatars are scary or weird, I would just pass the discussions too! I don't know why I act this way and I agree that it's not really fair. But I just can't help it! I would automatically ignore those conversations *laughs*.

Hi, angela2006. As for me, it sometimes affects my decision on that but not always. I think to some extent, a good avatar does draw our attention on the discussion. However, we shouldn't just be affected by it because it's unfair to the poster like you said. Whether the avatar is good or not, if only the discussion posted can attract us or we have something to say about it, respond to it as what comes to you at first glance. Just my own opinion. Have a nice day! :)

I do not usually look at the avatar to determine if i am going to respond to a discussion or not. I usually look at the discussion and if I feel I have something to contribute to it, then I respond to them. But the avatar helps me to identify members whose discussions I have responded to. The image remains in my mind and the next time I see it, I am able to relate to it and would know that I have seen this members discussion before.

No, I never choose discussions based on a users avitar. If the discussion is a good topic and I'm interested, I'll reply. Some of the avitars are clever, some are cute, some are spooky, and others are downright strange...but I'd never let that affect the decision to post or not.

Not at any time at all. It's just an avatar. A photo or cartoon, a simple picture. What's that got to do with a discussion? I answer whatever discussions that interest me. I never really look at the avatar till after my response has been submitted if I look at it at all. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Yes, I think they do. But if I feel strongly about a subject, I'll respond anyway. But if its just a casual topic, then I might not. Its that whole first impressions thing.

I reply to discussions according to two basic rules. One is whether the discussion is interesting or meaningful so that I can share my opinions. The other is the avatar. As the avatar can tell me which one from Mylot. I can remember most of my friends' avatars. I like to reply to my friends' discussions at first.

It is mostly the posts, although occasionally an avatar will attract my attention enough for me to at least read a post.
