HOw do you feel when its your birthday and nobody greeted you???
tommorow's my birthday....and im afraid nobody will remember my birthday... :(
im in a new country where i dont have friends just acquaintances....
If you were me will you feel sad? or what would you feel if this happens to you?

:) yesterday....after i posted this discussion i logout mylot then my cousin called me and greeted me advance happy happy birthday, she called in advance coz she might not be able to call me today coz she'll be very working so she thought to call me in advance....i felt so happy...at least someone did remember.

These days my birthday is just like any other day to me. Sine being here in Kentucky I have spent most of my birthdays alone, so I got over it rather quickly.

Well it is sad, but it is one thing I have grown accustomed to, and it's something I don't wish upon anyone.
So I hope you have a wonderful and happy birthday! :) I am sure you will be remembered on your birthday.

Well happy birthday from me so at least you know someone will remember. I have spent a birthdat in a foreign country once and I just slept all day and ate loads of chocolate. JUst be proactive about it all and get a calling card and call all your family and friends and talk for hours so that you really do feeel a little bit excited. Do not wait for them to phone you.

Very positive suggestion. Sometimes it is the waiting, and the anticipation of being forgotten that really wears on us. I think you have a good plan for our friend.

you guys are so thoughtful. you made me feel so special. i couldnt thank you enough. Its really nice to know that even though we dont really know each other personally we can still count on each other in times like these.

I would feel a little upset but, hey, it's your day! Plan something fun for yourself so that you won't be bored or anything. If I am in a new country, I would be planning things for myself ahead so that I know how exactly I am going to spend my precious birthday. Don't let anything ruin it and just do something you enjoy to do. Happy birthday *smiles*.

I hope someone will always greet me for my birthday, especially my husband & daughter. I would feel terrible if no one remembered my birthday.
It is hard when you are in a new country.

Maybe you will be alone in celebrating your birthday, but I don't think that people close to you will not remember your birthday. With today's technology, they will surely find a way to reach and greet you on this day. Don't feel sad but be thankful that God had given you another year to live. Since you have brought up this topic, we, your friends in mylot greets you a "Happy Birthday" and hopefully you have a great day though you're alone in a far away country.

Belated Happy Birthday my friend. My family members always wish me, so this problem did not occur till now. But even if I am not wished by any one, I wish my own self, buy a gift for my own sake as I am special to me always. I understand myself lot better than anyone else. I feel I deserve a wish and a gift. So what, I will only gift to me myself.

First off, let me greet you a very 'Happy, happy Birthday to you' and wish you all the blessings in life and more happiness.
Well, if I were in your situation that during my special day on my Birthday if there's nobody remember my day or either greet me, for sure I would feel being ignored and not loved by my loved ones at all. It could be a very saddest moment in my life instead of being happy because first of all it's my Birthday. So, I would feel the same like what you felt there if no one remember your birthday or even greeted you.

nope i won't, as long as my friends know how to reach me, i'm sure they're gonna figure out some way to greet me. besides, birthdays are not made just so other people would greet you. it's about looking back and thanking God for all the good things that happened to you that year.

Friend it is after midnight where I live, so I will be one to greet you with all the birthday blessings I can send your way. For various reasons I have been in those shoes, overlooked, loved, but forgotten. It happened often enough that I usually dreaded my birthday, and sat around and was sad about it. I still have some problems with it but at least I am conscious of what causes those difficult feelings. However this is not about me or poor me, this is about you, your birthday, your happiness. I wish you happiness like fireworks on the Fourth of July, high flying and joyous.

oh, that would really sadden me up.
because it is on these special occasions like birthdays that I expect that all my close friends and relatives call me up and wish me.

I celebrated my birthday 2 days ago, Not all of my friends remember my birthday but some tried their best to reach me via mobile, email and phone. I dont feel sad for what happened since that day is another blessing for me. I celebrated my birthday with my family since Im on a vacation leave on work.
