I/my family grew up with horses , I love these animals , went rididng whenever I could , now I live in the city ,I don`t think the cops would like it if I were to ride one down the street ... Wish I could though...

I`m so sorry you went through a bad experience , it happens and if the horse knows your scared he/she can sense it like dogs do ... They are tame and you would have nothing to worry about if taught properly , as they love us too , try getting close with him/her before jumping on and who ever your with should have taught you how to deal with that particular horse as they all have their own way of dealing , like you may have broaded on the wrong side or something like that ... I wish you would try again as its an awsome feeling , the freedom , the grace its terrific nothing can compare ... You`d love it I`m sure ...

I understand some people are just too nervous about things they are new at , and if you had a bad experience well that explains it all ... I do think you`d love it if given a chance , but I won`t try and push you into something your not comfortable doing , you enjoy life as it is and thats great ... I am happy that your happy . Thanx Gabs ...

Love it. I used to teach horse back riding at a summer camp to kids age 8-15. It was really the only time I could ride. Now as an adult, I don't get to do it as often. I try to arrange a ride when I go on vacation. My last ride was through the country side of Peru. It was amazing. Before that I went on a ride through the ancient ruins of mexico. I wish I could ride more often.

I don`t think it would matter to me where I was as long as I was able to find one even if it was only for an hour or so , just to bring back the memories and the feeling of freedom ... I truely miss it and will do it again one day before I can`t anymore .... Thanx have a great evening ...

All you have to do is when ever to go on vacation, try and see if there is a trail ride near by. It doesn't have to be fancy. I went riding through the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. And recently my mother took a ride in Montana while my parents were traveling cross country. So like I said, it doesn't have to be exotic, just fun.

I have had horses all my life, they are beautiful...I dont ride often enough these days though. Its so enjoyable and relaxing. We usually go for a bush ride then end up at the pub for lunch.

Yes, I like horseback riding, under some conditions. The weather can't be hot, I don't like riding when it is really hot out. And I need a cooperative horse. One that will listen to commands and not buck me off! :) But yes, I do love riding! I love horses and I wish that I had grown up with horses like you did! :)

Its been years since I`ve been around them I miss it thats why I had to post about it , I want to ride again and I have no where to do it in the city ... But your right you need to build a relationship with the horse and take it from there . Fed them carrots and salt cubes things like that and you`ll be happy if the horse doesn`t like you than he/she will let you know one way or another ... If he/she is agressive don`t try getting on or you will bebuccked off .... You need to know how to saddle the horse , there are different ways to saddle a horse ... I recommend you ask about the that first ... I need to go riding again , I hope I will !!!

I like horses, but I haven't rode one in years. Actually, not since I was probably 12 or 13. My son and his wife have one for their kids, but it doesn't like them riding it.

Thats sad , I had a horse like that it would only let me and my sister ride it together , no one else ... Not even the lady who was a pro rider could get on it , this horse threw her in a pile of you know what ... We figured that the horse only liked our weight together , we couldn`t even ride it alone , it had to be us together ... Thats to bad I wonder if they tried something like that , or maybe it only likes bare back , some horses are taught only bare back and once their used to it they don`t like saddles ....

I had a horse when I was a kid. I loved riding as much as possible then. It was one of the freest feelings in the world. Plus it was great having that relationship with your horse, like a friendship or maybe a partnership. When I was married, I had a horse as an adult for a couple of years, then once the divorce came. There was just no way that I could financially keep a horse and my daughter too so, my horse had to go to a new home. That was horrible. Horseback riding as an adult is even more wonderful than riding as a kid! Definite feeling of freedom, hair blowing in the breeze, in tune with your horse and nature. I miss it very much. And now that I am in poor health, it's not even an option for me. So I read horse books, collect horse books and horse statues and anything to do with horses. It's one way of handling it!

I feel so bad for you and you daughter , ai don`t have one anymore myself , they are the greatest animals alive . I miss them horribly and wish I was able to ride as I am in pooor health myself only with my condition they say I would probably benefit from it . Helping build muscles that I would ultimatley lose , and I can`t seem to find any close by or close enough that I can get there ... I don`t collect anything about them mainly cause it would bring the memories too strong its hard to let that part of your life go ... I guess I never wanted to .... Thanx alot ....

I LOVE horses. I took riding lessons. I'm a horse crazy gal. I don't have a horse, but I love them. I doubt I could care for one now.

Me too I also don`t think I could care for one , but I do want to ride again , where I`m from there is a horse stable we used to go to and ride we used to look after the horses and ride for free , that was after we lost our own ... It was a wonderful place to go to and we loved the horses and the time we spent with them , maybe I`ll move back and see if the stables are still there ... We`ll see ... Thanx alot ...

When I was teenager I used to spend lots of time around horses and go for rides in the countryside. The horse was I used to ride was Heather, a gray (white) Highland mare. One of my friends had a horse on loan and then she later bought her own horse. At that time in my life I wished that my family would buy me a horse but they couldn't afford to.

I do like to go horse backriding. I haven't gone since I was 15 years old. My dad use to take us on our Sunday visits. I don't know of any place to go horse backriding where I live. I would like to take my son someday.

I grew up in the country on a farm yet I have never ridden on a horse. How stupid is that? There use to be a time when I had wanted to try horseback riding. Now, I am not sure if I would try horseback riding or not. I injured my one knee a few years ago and I am worried that horseback riding might be too bumpy.

Horses won`t normally Canter (run) unless something spooks them or unless you smack them with the reins , unless the horse just isn`t comfortable with you and feels how insecure you are with them ,almost like dogs reading when people are scared of them ... They are not agressive and they will obey commands , just try a gentle horse first , the person with you would help pick the right horse for you and teach you how to control him/her ... GO FOR IT YOU~LL LOVE IT !!! I hope you do , you won`t regret it I`m sure !!!!!!
