Tom Delay won his court case reguarding the Money Laundering and Campaing Fincnce. The Appeals Court in Texas upheld the dismissal of charges. The court said you can't charge a person for something they did in the past just because it is illeagle now. An Example would be when the the speed limit was reduced to 55 mph from 70, 65, and 60 mph (depending upon the state)to conserve gas. Then to have the government review who traveled during the past few years and charge them with speeding. At the time the Democratics were quick to demand his resignation for his being indicted. If you remember Speaker Polosi cited Tom Delay as part of the Culture of Corruption and the Democratic, if elected, would clean up Congress. The same thing with Rep. Foley was the same thing. Now when Congressman Jeffers, D - New Orleans, is indicted for selling political favors and asking for bribes, we are reminded by Speaker Polosi in this country a person (if a Democratic) is innocent until proven guilty. (except if you are a republican then you are guilty even if you are only being invesgated or if you are charged with a crime under a new law for something that was not illegal wehn you did it.)
