I am taking a break from cleaning my house right now. We have been getting new furniture this weekend so I have been really deep cleaning. I've been getting rid of a lot of stuff we haven't used in a long time to get rid of some clutter and make room for newer nicer things. So far I've finished my daughters room. She just got a new bed today. So I rearranged her room and cleaned in there really good. Now I'm working on our bedroom. My fiance is on his way to help his stepdad bring over our new bedroom furniture. So I have been cleaning out our drawers and getting rid of all the clothes we haven't worn in 2 years or more. And been taking stuff apart to get rid of it. It's a lot of work but it will be worth it when I see a nice clutter free home. So how often do you really deep clean your home?

Wow I have never had new funriture in my life. We got used furniture when we were married nearly 29 years ago and still use it. We did purchase a dining room table and chairs when our kids were small as the chairs we had were not sturdy enough for kids to be climbing on. I wish mine was clutter free. I hate clutter but have alot of it.

Well it's not "new" furniture. It's actually hand me downs. But hey it's new to us so I'm not complaining. So far I've never had new furniture either. Wait I take that back. The glider in my daughters room was bought new as a baby shower gift.

I am deep cleaning my apartment right now. I probably do this about once a month. It is absolutely essential, given that I live in a very small studio apartment. It's very easy to accumulate stuff that you no longer need and no longer use, and then there's nowhere to put it all. So, I'm sorting through things and getting rid of things. I am donating a lot of stuff to thrift stores so that other people can use them. You're right. It is a lot of work. But, it's so worth it!

Yeah we live in an apartment too. It's a 3 bedroom. But when we moved in here we went from living in a 1700 square foot house to a 1000 square foot apartment. So we had to get rid of A LOT of stuff to fit into our apartment. And so far I have 3 bags of stuff I'm taking to the thrift store and I'm not anywhere near done yet lol.

I totally hear you there. That is the kind of trauma I went through when I suddenly went from a larger apartment to this very tiny one. Yikes! I hope you manage to get all that work done.

I'm certain its not often enough, as it was 5 years ago. We really need to get rid of a lot of items that haven't been used in years. I really need to start making a to do list and tackle this problem by doing a small amount every day.

Deep cleaning is something that I don't have time for on a regular basis. I either do a very heavy-duty Spring cleaning or, if we are having company, then I deep clean, purge and re-arrange furniture, photos and nick nacks to give our home a fresher look. I don't enjoy it, but when it's done it gives me a sense of pride in my home.

Every month or so I choose one room and do it from top to bottom. That seems to work well for me. Daily I do all the normal mopping and dusting.

I deep clean my house about every 3 months. Having kids I should probably do this more often, but every 3 months seems efficent enough. When I deep clean. I move all the big heavy furniture around to dust behind them, clean out closets, shampoo the carpets, and reorganize the house. Best of luck with your cleaning.

Once a week, I find that there is so many things to do in so little time, and at times the house doesn't even get deep cleaned for even longer than that. Although if I don't find the time, I still usually do a quick sweep and clean of the house.

I try to do a major cleaning every other week. It is not always easy and takes a lot of time so I might do a quick clean up every now and then. I feel better when I do a big cleanup and I sleep better and I get rid of a lot of things I no longer need and if they are reusable, I donate them to charities in my community.

Yes, it's lots of work, but fun once in awhile in that yes, you can enjoy the results.. I deep clean perhaps once a year.. Though now I'm leaning more toward doing a little here and there, as I've found a one time whirlwind of cleaning is too hard these days on the ole bod.. Which reminds me I better get to doing a little of that deeper cleaning.. inside and out.. before our big bash we have once a year. We have it the last weekend in august, so this is a good reminder for me! I can sail along with a lot of surface maintenance for quite awhile! Have fun with your new furniture!:)

I deep clean our home about once a month. It seems no matter how much stuff that I throw away we still have a lot of stuff that we don't need. Tomorrow when my son is at his Grandparents I am going to get rid of some broken toys or toys that he does not play with anymore. I only clean out his toybox when he's not around because he gets upset when I do it in front of him.

I've been trying to cut down on clutter, and it really helps when I'm trying to clean. I generally clean each room in my house once a week, or as needed. For jobs like washing walls and windows, and cleaning closets, I do every other month.
